snow or no snow ...

Good morning kids Well, snow or no snow I was off to the gym this morning for 30 minutes of rowing machine thingy time. I discovered that by leaving my rings at home it was easier on my hands than the last time, so I'll have to remember that going forward. I am liking the rowing machine. It's sort of monotonous (it's too bad they don't have a tv you can watch while you row), but I like the fact that I am working my arms and my legs and getting a combo of cardio and strength out of the workout. Tomorrow will be the circuit again and then Friday either treadmill or bike for 30 minutes. Saturday will be a combination of cardio AND the circuit. I've got a HUGE project that has to be finished, so I am going to be busy with that and away from the board today, but I'm sure I'll peek once or twice. Have a wonderful day and be safe in the snow (Big Blue decided to try to scare the poop outta me this a.m. and almost slid into Ritchie Highway coming out of Big V this a.m. .. I was NOT amused !!!) Hugs, Mo

I love reading about your exercise routine. You are the most dedicated person I have ever read about. What kind of changes have you seen?

Hi Linda, I am almost 3 years out (3/22/04) and only started the exercise thing in December 2006 so I am a slow starter with the exercise. Of course, now I want to see instantaneous results and it's VERY slow. I've never had a problem with my energy levels but I do feel much more energized with the exercise now. Hugs, Mo

Hiya Mo!!! So glad Blue didn't take a header and you are safe and sound! That would not have been a good thing. You are doing awesome at the gym! I need some of that motivation you've got going on!!! Not too much on the work front. I do have things to do but hopefully it won't be a crazy day. My boss is back from her trip so things are pretty much back to 'normal' which is a very good thing! Small office plus evil co-worker is NOT a good combo when the boss is away, but I survived!!!! WOOHOO I need to remember to get in more protein through my shakes every day. I've been slacking in that department and I can feel it. So, I'm making a concious effort to have two shakes a day again like I did religiously the past three months. For some reason once I hit my four month anniversary I started slacking...BAD HEATHER! I really don't want to fall back into old patterns. Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm today. I know it was just a dusting of snow but people drive crazy and stupid in this weather. I came to work an hour early just to avoid alot of the morning mess! Have a great and happy day!!!! ~Heather

Hi Heather and Mo and everyone. I am home today, the snow wasn't my deterant really although my neighborhood is completely white and nobody has moved out yet. But hubby had extensive dental work yesterday, bone graphs, implants put in, stitches everywhere. Apparently they hit an artery and the bleeding wouldn't stop so he's miserable so I'm going to stay here and be his nurse. He sure nursed me when I needed it. Work may not be appreciating my being off and I'm sure they are talking about me as we speak but you gotta do what you gotta do. Mo as usual you wore me out reading your exercise program. I need to get off my lazy butt and get busy. I think I'm going to try Curves again with my friend. It's not to busy some nights so maybe I can pick and choose which machines I want. Heather will miss our emails today but you can email me at home, I'm right here. Ok gals. talk to you in a bit. Margie

Hi Heather, It is soooo easy to slip back into old habits. I have really been trying hard this week to get back to protein, protein & More protein with very little snacking and carbs. Its so hard! I was very grouchy the past two days. It was like I was all moody because I couldn't eat what I wanted to. Just shows me that I still have work to do mentally in order to maintain my weight loss for life, not to mention getting to goal! Don't beat yourself up. Today is a new day, and the next day too, and so on. Today is a better day for me. I am not so moody and I don't miss the snacking that much. I am sure that tomorrow will be even better! The old habits will always be right around the corner so we have to be diligent to stick to the new better habits. You can do it!!! You are doing so great and looking so wonderful. I am glad you survived your boss being gone. It's never easy to have to deal with an evil co-worker, they can sure make for a miserable day when they are around. Keep haning in there. Perhaps I will pray that she decides to leave her job. That wouldn't be a terrible thing right?! Have a great day. Hugs, Robin

Dr S says 2 protein shakes/day FOREVER .. I am really good at the first one each day .. I mix it and carry it with me to work and drink it when I get here .. it's that 2nd one that NEVER seems to happen and then of course weekends I don't even get the first one in. I need to work on that myself!!!! It's been a BUSY morning and I haven't even gotten started on the 'project' yet. I see myself in the office til at least 6 tonight trying to get it knocked out. Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Mo

Hey Terry I'm counting on you to remind me about the gym when I start to lose my motivation!!! I'm really glad that I've decided to make it a part of my a.m. routine though because it was REALLY easy to slack off when I was going after work. Hugs, Mo
