3 days post-op...
Hi everyone. I just had my lap rny on Friday, 2/2 and was released from St. Agnes hospital yesterday. The hospital staff were all great and I'm glad to be home. The anxiety leading up to the surgery was the worst part of it all (...although the recovery is a lot tougher than what I thought it would be.) It's quite painful and uncomfortable..but I'm not complaining! I'm just grateful to be on the other side of sugery and that I didn't bolt off of the operating table. The team at Dr. Averbach's office is awesome.
hi merideth. hope everything went well for you and wishing you a speedy recovery. i am hopeing to be on that other side also but my journey just started. i go march 14 to my first session(orinetation) but so thats as far as i have gotten. i guess time will only tell. keep us posted about your progress. tammy
Hi Tammy.
Thank you for your recovery well wishes. I'm already feeling much better. It took me 9 total weeks from the time of my orientation to having the surgery...so it won't be too long for you. I went to every support group meeting and all of the support group meetings beforehand trying to get as much information as possible. Good luck on you journey! :spin:
Hi Meredith -
Welcome!! So glad everything went well - trust me, the first 6 weeks or so are the hardest, physically and mentally. Whoever said this surgery was the easy way out needs to have their head examined, yes??!!
Just be compliant, walk, sip, repeat!!!
Feel free to join us here often!
Teresa (Tia)
Hi Tia.
Surgery is most definitely NOT the easy way out. Anyone who says otherwise is just ignorant to what it is really all about. My dad said the same thing until he learned more about it...thought it was like liposuction. :-S
I am definitlely looking forward to being a part of this support group. Thanks for the encouragement.
