I am a little scared!!
I just spoke with Dr Von Rueden and he told me if I have a strep throat I might not be able to get the surgery. I don't have a fever just been dealing with my thoat hurting for over a week an a half now. he said I need to go see my pcp and get a strep throat culture done. I know that at the peds office they do one in minutes but I doubt it at my pcp. I don't want to have this surgery cancelled. ughhh now I am panicking becuase of this...I am not even scared about surgery. I will keep you guys posted.

Hey Cira,
get checked because you don't want to be sick going into this. I know how you feel about postponing it but I caught something or had a bad result on a liver test the day before my surgery date (don't remember what now) but they only postponed mine a few days 10th to the 14th.....it was disappointing but better to be safe and in the best health they told me . Keep positive thoughts and I'll be praying for you but plese get checked if you're sick...we need you healthy and well. hugs, pat
Oh, no! Better to be safe than sorry - you'll need all your strength to recover. Call your PCP, if not, do whatever you have to - have DVR call your PCP, if necessary, go to the ER, whatever it takes.
I know you don't want it postponed, but do what you need to do to maximize your recovery.
Let us know,
Tia
Thank you sweetie! I was upset but when DVR told me that the tubes that goes down my throat can bring the strep infection into my stomach and further I knew he had the best interest for me. I am glad he is such a good dr and very caring too he called me at home and i was shocked to hear from him. I expected to hear from Kathi instead.
March 6th here I come!
hugs,
Cira
Cira,
Get it checked and if it is strep, get the meds. I developed a Urinary Tract Infection like a week before my surgery. I got on antibiotics and it went off as planned. I realize you're inside that week window...but it may be nothing. It'll work out just the way it's supposed to!
Take Care,
Terry
