Hi Laurel I did not have the band but wanted to wish you the best of luck for a uneventful surgery and speedy recovery. Heather Modispaw has the lapband. She posted right under yours so if you have any questions I'm sure she wouldnt mind you asking. Good luck and keep us posted Kelly

Hi Laurel! I'm the resident bandster in the MD Forum. There are a couple waiting on surgery and there are 1 or 2 that are here on occasion, but pretty much at the get togethers I'm it What kind of questions do you have? My suggestions are to get out of bed as soon as you can. Walk walk walk to get the gas out. Do exactly what your doc tells you. Get in the protein. Email me for any help you need. I stayed overnight, if you are staying overnight I recommend bringing your own pillow, plan on wearing home what you wore to the hospital. Get plenty of rest and hit that morphine button as much as you want! When you get to eat you won't want to and you won't be able to eat very much because of the swelling. Use your pillow in the car on the way home to use on your tummy for bumps in the road. When you get home use a heating pad on your tummy for the gas and pain. It helps a little. You can also use liquid or chewable Gas-X Good luck!

I was just banded. Healther M. Gave you good advice. The pillow in the car to put over your belly where the seat belt will go is a great idea. I did that and it was a life saver. You don't want that seat belt rubbing your incisions...ouch Good luck !!!
