3 hour class completed yesterday at GBMC

I had my class at GBMC start at 9:30 am. It was 3 of us there for the class. Jean & Tonya having surgery on the 13th and me next week on the 6th. There was another lady in the room her name is Kai Kai and she works for them but forgot what she does. Anyway she was really upbeat and nice to us. Sloan went through the entire binder with all the information for pre & post op. The other two ladies were nervous I got a few goose bumps here and there but nothing major. Dr Von Rueden came in chatted with us asked us if we had any questions or concerns and was really friendly. He smiled a lot and told us that we were going to do just fine and by summer time we would be out there showing off our new bodies. lol After all that Kathy came in explained what was going to happen from the time we come to be admitted up until we are released from the hospital. Then she called me in first to a room had me sign all the paperwork and gave the time of surgery. Which I will be the first one for Tuesday. I need to be there at 5:30 am and surgery is at 7:30 am. I just can't believe that just in 6 more days i will be on the losing side thanking my Lord Jesus for guiding DVR hands and protecting me through the surgery. I am actually calm no major nerves yet. I just hope that this is the way I remain throughout the entire time. I still have some more things I need to purchase to have at home for after the surgery and I should get that done by Thursday evening. The day before the surgery I will be on clear liquids and I will have to take the fleets phospho something yuck. But I am ready! I am feeling worse today with the cold it is progressing and I am praying I can knock this out as soon as possible I hat e to have my surgery canceled. Cira, I am three weeks out of surgery with Dr.DVR and you choose the best, if you want to know if you have a good doctor just ask the nurses and they all Love him at GBMC. They all told me that he is the gold standard of this surgery and if they had it done he would be the one they would have. I have had no problems and very very little pain,nothing really from what he did just pain from the gas. You are in the best hands you could get . God Bless you as you start your journey. Hi Cira here you go girl!!!! Ditto what BobbyDee said DVR is wonderful and the staff at the hospital was wonderful (which is rare at any hospital) but I thought everyone was outstanding. I will be 8 weeks out on Monday, I am down 59 pounds, and I also had hardly any pain afterwards. The worst for me was just trying to get all that damn water down I am finally where I can do it :>) so don't stress about it. Try to stay calm (yeah right) you will be on the losing side before you know it!!! Staphanie

Hi Tia, I have missed seeing you here glad to see you are back. Actually I would love to meet all of you so I just might come to the next get together. I hope and pray everything goes easy for you if you decide to go forward with the wls journey. I know you went to the information session on the 24th.
