I went to the info session and I think I have already researched most of the stuff that was discussed. I did like DVR. He was very friendly and yes...I could tell he seemed a little shy. I turned in all my paperwork and the girl...I think her name was Sloan...was already working on it while we were in the session. They said we would probably get a call on Monday to let us know what our insurance requires and then set us up for the consult. We have to pay a $500 fee that covers alot of things. I did not ask at what point that had to be paid. If I have not even made the definate decision to go through with it at this time, should I tell them that or should I go for the consult? I actually got the feeling that they were speaking to us as if we had already made the decision to have it. Now for husband....still not for it!!!! He said that if I decided to go through with it he would support me. I guess I just want him to tell me to "go for it". I really tried to explain to him that I know that I cannot do this without the tool of wls. Even if I could do it, I know, from experience, that I will never be able to keep it off. If that is the case...which I know for me it is...then I will just stay where I am . Thank you all for your replies. I hope I can make a decision and turn hubby around to my side. Already loving you guys...Gail

Gail. Have him read some of the profiles of the people who have had this surgery. Have him look at some of the before and afters. That helped me show my wife about the surgery and the transformation that was happening for so many others who were just like me.

Hi Gail, I am going to have my surgery with DVR and they never pushed me for anything. I went to their info they checed my insurance and I accepted my consultation appointment. After meeting DVR on a more personal time I made up my mind that I wanted the surgery with him. I paid my program fee on my second weight loss supervised vist. The consult visit is considered as visit one if you go through it. Idon't know if ou have to do the weight loss visits. best of luck and I hop your husband can look at the before and after pictures and read the profiles it is very important he does that. hugs. Cira

You usually pay the consult fee at one of the early appointments. I think I had mine paid by the 3rd or 4th appt. Viewing the before and after pics will change anyone's mind. Best of luck. Aime

Hi Gail I wanted to tell you that i was at that informational session when you were there I guess. Did you go on the 24th? I live on the Lower Eastern Shore and my worries are about all the trips I'll have to make up there to see them especially with the 6 months of supervised weight loss. They said that they would work with me but I don't really know what that means, I guess I'll find out at the consultation. Just wanted to say hi. JoAnna

Hi JoAnna.......yes, I was there on the 24th. Actually, I remember someone asking about livng on the lower eastern shore. I think the doc said they could set you up with someone in your area so you wouldn't have to travel so far for your visits. Was that you? Where on the eastern shore? My grandchildren live with their mother in Denton. Are you excited about the surgery? Gail
