Laura, I'm almost two years out and just got a scale to help me be accountable in my WL journey. Avoid the scale as a newby. Be pleasantly surprised at your Doc appointments. Your new, your body is adjusting (fluids, shock, etc). I had lost weight by my first appt., which I believe was 2/3 months out. Can't wait to hear how you do! Keep the faith. This will work for you. Honey, Most likely you have already lost weight. You will get a big surprise I'm sure when you go for your first post-op appt. Aime

Laura, You didn't say whether you weighed yourself and found that you hadn't lost weight, but I'm suspecting that is the reason for your question. If not, I apologize for presuming. Your body has probably already begun the process of burning off your fat (your liver is working in high gear!), but you may not see the fat loss on the scale yet. I say this because you may still be retaining fluid from your surgery. Try not to obsess over the numbes on the scale, just follow your doctor's program and you'll do fine Take Care, Terry

Hi Laura and welcome to te losers bench. Don't stress about this yet. Your body is still healing. When I went for my first check up which was like a week 1/2 almost 2 weeks I was down 25 pounds. Let them be a surprise at your appointments and when they get further apart then buy a scale. I only get on mine every 3 weeks maybe once a month. You can get very obsessed with the scale and that doesn't help your mind. Good Luck and keep us posted Kelly
