I feel miserable, in lots of pain and the nausea will not go away. Thursday I get my drain tube out and Friday I will start full liquids. I haven't been able to keep my multi'v down. I went from the flinstone complete chewble, the crushing and mixing it in my jello and it comes up. Hubby bought me the liquid and that was the same. The only meds I can take and (it takes all I have to get it down) is the prevacid. I know or at least I feel I'm in danger, not being able to take my multi'vs? Anyhow, I'm sad because how awful I feel, this is for sure nothing I had expected. Right now, I would have my 3rd daughter all over again and she was a c-section, to have to deal with this. I keep telling myself I know this will get better. Marcy

Have you contacted your doctor? Are you getting fluids in? You dont want to dehydrate. I was very lucky and had little pain and no other problems. Today is my on year surgery anniversary. It does get better, you have just put your body thru he** and it needs time to adjust and heal. But call your doctor and let them know whats going on.

For peace of mind, let you Doc know what is going on. I feel as you get further along in your recovery, all things will fall into place. Stay hydrated, work on your protein, and then worry about the vitamins. Take baby steps. Your body will tolerate things better as it heals. Try not to stress. Take care! TraciL

Initially, I wouldn't stress about more then gettingin your liquids. Are you taking your pain medication? You just had major major surgery. I have had 2 c-sections. This is the second time I have had abdominal surgery. Abdominal is so much harder on your body. Aime

Marcy, You didn't say, but are you able to keep fluids or other food down? It may be that you need to coat your pouch with something first before taking the vitamin. Have you tried cottage cheese? I'm not sure what kind of food you are allowed to eat, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Please don't hesitate to call your Doctor. I know we all have thoughts of "oh I don't want to bother him/her about this". Things do get better, initially the first six weeks are the roughest and then it gets much better! Keep your chin up Take Care, Terry

Marcy, You sound like I did after RNY. It was the worst pain ever and I had 2 babies naturally. That was better. I know exactly how you feel. I wished I never did it. My vitamins wouldn't stay down and I cried every day. BUT, IT REALLY DOES GET BETTER! By the end of week 2 I was walking around and guess what? I even came back to work! Granted I work at a desk most of the day, but it does get better and when you see the scale move, you'll be elated. My doctor told me to lay off of the meds for 2 weeks, but do DRINK DRINK DRINK. You should ask your doc, but I did what he said and after the 3rd week, all vitamins went down and stayed down. I hope you feel better soon. I know it sucks now, but keep a positive attitude and I promise it will get better. Hugs!

so some of you didn't take your multiVs for a couple of weeks after surgery? until you felt better and not nausious. The only thing I can get down and keep down which is hard is my prevacid. I see the doc tomorrow to have my drain tube out and I guess my stitches out as well.
