Looking for Friends in MD GBMC
Not one of DVR's patients but have has WLS surgery almost three years ago. WOW!!! that is hard to believe sometimes. I have reached my Doc goals - and have maintained my loss. Actually lost 30 lbs this year -- attempting to get to a personal weight goal. However, I am not obsessed about it. Would not mind being a WLS friend. If there is anything I can help you out with or any questions I can answer let me know.

Hi, call me TY. I'm a patient of Dr. Moen also, already approved! Date=1/17/07. I'm a lil' nervous, prob more anxious! I think Dr. Moen is extremely nice, compastionate, & attentive the times that I have met w/ him ( YES, I THINK HE IS VERY ATTRACTIVE AS WELL- IF THAT REALLY MATTERS-LOL). I'm looking 4 friends as well. Have not completed much ( all most none! Lol) of my profile. I am a huge procrastinator, & work extreme hours. Hope 2 here back from u & the best of luck w/ ur entire process.
Hi Kali,
Welcome! I am a Dr. Von Rueden patient and I have not had surgery. I am due to go to my last supervised weight loss vist on the 16th and the NP told me they will submit for authorization. I am quite stressed since I gaine a few pounds over the holidays. I have been doing everything to lose the few pounds I lose 3 gain 2 and such. ugggghhh I am afraid that they tell me they are not to send for approval.
I want to wish you the best on your journey. If you want to talk I am here for you!
Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey girl,
How are you doing?
Thank you so much for thinking of me and responding to this post. I am trying not to worry but for some reason this is all I think about and sometimes I can't even sleep just thinking in my mind them telling me well it is not going to happen because you gained weight. The NP told me that he has not agreed to operate if the patient gains weight. I wonder if any of his patients gained during the supervised wl visit and what was the outcome???
Thank you so much for the prayers it means the world to me.
Hugs,
Cira
Cira -
I think there was one month where I only lost 1 pound, but honestly, it seems like it's been so long ago, it's hard for me to remember. I can't really recall if there was a month when I gained weight, but again, it wasn't during the holidays, either. The holidays definitely make it so much harder.
So again, no real words of wisdom, just try, try, try to hang in there!

Cira, I gained some weight after my 2nd supervised visit before Thanksgiving and my last supervised visit in December. I was approved for surgery right after that. I'm finding it hard to get back on track since my surgery date is coming up in thGood lucke beginning of February, though every day I get closer to "being good". Your delimma has been an inspiration to me since I didn't know that surgery could be refused if you don't loose. Based on my experience, I think they understand some ups and downs. I would ask that question at GBMC though and avoid the sleep loss. As for me... I have 'till the 31st to loose what I have gained, and then some! Good Luck
Hello LB,
Thank you for your response.
See they told me as long as I maintained my weight or lost weight during my supervised weight loss visits (3 months) that everything will go smoothly. I gained on my second visit and my 3rd and last is due on Tuesday. What I am worried about is that they tell me no because I gained instead of maintaining. I hope and pray that everything goes well for me. I am sure if you already have your approval and surgery date then I guess you don't have to lose it unless The doctor requests it.
Good luck with your surgery and thank you again for replying.
Take care
Cira
