Hi Robin,
The Arundel Olympic Swim Center on Riva Rd is an A. A. County facility operated by the County's Dept of Recreation & Parks.
Anne Arundel County also has a new swim facility in Glen Burnie on Crain Hwy, across from Target and behind/next to the fire station. I am not sure but I would think the fees would be about the same as the Arundel Olympic Swim Center on Riva Rd.
Also, Big Vanilla on Ritchie Hwy, Arnold has a pool. Not sure if you can do the pool without a full membership for all other services, but the number at Big V is 410-544-2525. There are aquatic classes that come with membership as well as some that have an additional cost.
Big V also has a new facility in Pasadena that has a pool, not sure if the Pasadena location is open yet.
Hugs, Mo
I am not online much but love our get togethers in Crofton. Hi everyone.
To answer Mo's question about Big Vanilla- yes you can get just a pool membership but I am not sure of the cost. One of my instructors In Severna park at spy-the pool I swim in works for Big Vanilla too.
The woods pool is now owned and called Spy Aquatics. They have a website I have misplaced the address(sorry) but if you plug in spy aquatics in Severna Park,Md. I am sure you can google it. I swim there 5 days aweek. They have a big lap pool and a smaller therapy pool that has a smaller 8 ft deep end but is kept warm and nice. I take arthritis classes. I take Ai Chi which is Tai Chi in the water and very good for balance and relaxation and you just feel beautiful doing it. I also have physical therapy there and swim on my own which they call wellspring swims in the therapy pool. I like them because I can buy a pass for 15 sessions and use it whenever except like the Ai Chi class is a set days and times and fee. There are lots of hours to swim. The arthritis exercise calss is like wellspring you buy a pass for 10 sessions and go when you want. They have the class 3 times a day. You can also just buy one pass if you want but I there is a discount for the more sessions. They also have senior discounts but I don't get that yet . I'd love more company anyone want to go. The pool is great.I love it and for me that is the key to contuinue exercising. All I had to do was get over myself and get in a bathing suit. I hadn't even worm shorts in more years than I can count. It is the best thing I have done next to the surgery.Hope to see you there.
Love Laurie
