FEELING DOWN TODAY
Hello everyone...
I'm feeling down today. I have started losing again. 14 months out and only lost 82 pounds. I have been looking around me and others are much more of a loser then me in less time. I guess I'm kinda jealous. I have been working my butt off at the gym, have a trainer twice a month. Yesterday, she had me running up and down the steps at the gym. I'm not sure why I'm feeling this way. People around me are tilling me I'm melting away, but I feel they are just saying that to me nice. I look at myself and still see alot of fat.
I just want to go home and hide tonight. I know this is not good for me. I need to go the gym and support group.
Please help.......
Hey Steph,
The support group is a good place for you to come to tonight. I'm sending you hugs until then! One thing I remember my surgeon telling me is that everyone loses differently. Some lose quickly in the beginning then it tapers off, others it's slow all the way....etc. Mine bounces around...one week it's nothing then next week it could be 5 pounds...I try to stay off the scale so I don't drive myself nuts!!! LOL You are doing great! Remember that is 82 pounds gone. 82!!!!! That is fantastic!!! You look amazing...and no I'm not just saying that! It's perfectly OK to feel the way you do, to recognize it, and get the support and help you need. Keep your head up and I WILL see you at the support group tonight!!!! You may also want to check with your surgeon or nut to see what they say.

Hi Stephanie
I'm hoping you will come to the meeting tonight. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
I am almost 3 years out and have never reached 'goal' but I try to keep how far I have come in focus rather than sulk because others who weighed about the same are wearing a size 4 or 6 or 8 .. or .. or ..
It sounds as though you have a good thing going with the gym, etc. Keep that up. I am only just a month into exercising at all in all this time, so you are WAY ahead of me.
Hugs, Mo
Hi Stephanie -
Everyone that's posted already is right - you look great and 82 pounds is AWESOME!!! It's so hard not to compare yourself to others, but our weight loss is as individual and unique as we are. As for seeing the fat, that's just your mind messing with you. I'm 17 months out and still have a hard time seeing what others see. I'm working with a great therapist to overcome these feelings and the need to emotional eat when I'm not truly hungry. It's an ongoing battle for me, and I suspect will be for a lifetime. My therapist said it best when she reminded me that I've been obese for 35 years and you can't erase that in a short amount of time.
It's great that you're going to the support group, I personally know those ladies, and they will be of such help and comfort to you. As always, please feel free to post here - we're all in this together!!!!!

Please don't be down on yourself. You did not put the weight on in one day and it will not come off in one day. You are losing 1.3 pound aweek and that is good rate and a healthy rate. you are real close to that 100lbs mark. Maybe the reason you feel the way you do is because the whole human race expects everything the next day just like fed-ex. The fact that you are working out is a big credit to you.You can be happy others give you support but it you and only you that have to do this for. support group is a good thing. best to you
Dear Stephanie,
I am so sorry that you are feeling down right now. Let me tell you since the time I have researching this surgery and being a member here I have noticed that everyone is totally different than the other. Some might lose alot and some might not. I also noticed that the ones that have been losing slowly has had a lot of inches gone too. I was thinking ok let me see if I see some pictures of before and after and girl come on!!! You look fantastic and Stunning. Not any heavy person can get away using a beautiful dress like that sleeveless at that! I saw your before picture and man oh man you have lost a lot and girl 82 ounds is awesome. Could you have lost that before and kept it off this long? Think about it you look great and you deserve to be happy. I would like to suggest you write some affirmations and read them out loud to yourself everyday while you look at the beautful transformation that is happening with in and physically.
You are doing an awesome job and I am very proud of you. Come to the meeting tonight. I haven't had surgery and I am dying to meet these wonderful ladies and you so I can give you a big ((((((((((((((((((hug)))))))))))))))))))
I am here for you if you need to talk. I can't wait to be in your shoes!!!
God Bless you!
