Happy New Year Everybody! I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. I was busy running around. Spent a quiet evening at home on New Year's Eve watching the "Ace of Cakes" Marathon. Wow, what an exciting life I lead, huh? Yesterday was a lazy day and my Mom, Sister and I went to the outlets at Queenstown. I got some good bargains on some "underoos" as my Mom labled the $ holder card that she gave me for Christmas....hehehe. I wound up staying home from work today so I spent it taking down and the holiday decorations and putting them away so the house is back in order. The latest news about my Mom, that I haven't had a chance to post about yet, is that tomorrow my Mom has to go in for yet another surgery. The last surgery on December 5th was a success in that they got most/all of the dead skin and got the incision together. After almost 4 weeks, the incision is separating in places and the doctor doesn't want to take a change and just let it "knit together" on its own, so she's going to go in and see what's going on and then re-suture it. My Mom is thoroughly frustrated. She's ready to move on with her life and she's tired of dressings/bandages and leaking incisions. She's got a pretty good attitude about the surgery itself, she says she feels good and just wishes her body would feel as good as she does. So any prayers/good thoughts/wishes you can send up for her tomorrow, we would appreciate it. Her surgery is scheduled for 11:00am. So how's your eating, fluids, supplements, protein and exercise? I've been good on the fluids and supplements. I've done fair on the eating as I've eaten a few things I shouldn't have over the weekend. Last night I purged my house of all the Christmas Cookies and yes, I actually EXERCISED! (Don' faint..heheh). I got on the torture machine (otherwise known as the elliptical trainer). Even if I can't take the time to get to the gym, I've re-committed myself to working out on my own machine for at least 30 minutes everyday. I'd like to lose another 15-20lbs by the time I have my tummy tuck in May. I may not lose an ounce, but at least I will have a clear conscience knowing that I did everything I could to get this extra fat off prior to plastic surgery. I'm not sure I'll get to post here in the morning, if not have a great day and I'll post to let everybody know how my Mom does as soon as I can. Take Care, Terry

I am so sorry that your mom has to have another procedure. I hope that this one is a success so that she can move on with her life. I know that my own mother has been having some health issues lately which have made her unbearable at time. She has developed some kind of an eye infection which she has ben treating for nearly amonth now. Initially, she was so frightened about her eyesight that .. well I won't say the types of words she used on her kids.... She did calm down by Christmas and her eyes seemed to be improving. The infection is back at it again. She has to wash her face with baby shampoo each and every time she uses her inhaler. Luckily, she will be seeing an ENT this week that make be able to better diagnose what is going on with her. You and your mom are in my prayers. Aime Just cuz-- where did the nickname mcmom come from?

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's eye infection. I'll be praying that it responds to the drugs soon! McMom is a nickname that Tia (Teresa E) bestowed on my Mom because our last name begins with "Mc"....cute, huh? Take Care, Terry

Happy new year Terry I'll be thinking about McMom tomorrow and thinking very positive thoughts for her. I hope the doc gets her put together right once and for all. I did my gym thing on Saturday a.m. and then Mr Mo and I spent a part of the afternoon out wandering the stores looking at mp3 players. I had decided what I wanted to order from Amazon.com, but wanted to fondle it before I did the order. Sunday we were out doing more shopping/looking/walking ... hit Arundel Mills and did a lap there. We are such party animals that neither of us made it to midnight New Years Eve. I think he was asleep by 8:30 and I was gone by 10. I was up bright and early on New Years Day, ready to go to the gym when I discovered it was POURING!!!! I figured I didn't HAVE to go out in that mess so I didn't. I never did make it to the gym yesterday. Mr Mo tried using my laptop and discovered that it's BUSTED .... will not boot .. so I am getting an early birthday present. We went out shopping for laptops and I finally ended up ordering one from Office Depot on line. Now I am impatient for it to come!!!! I think everyone who made a new year's resolution to go to the gym was at Big Vanilla tonight, I barely got a treadmill, and figured I might be doing 45 minutes on the treadmill when after 30 minutes I saw a free recumbent bike and grabbed that for another 25 minutes. I think tomorrow I've got to get there earlier ... and maybe I'll have better luck. I am wondering if I could POSSIBLY make it to Big V a couple of mornings at 5 a.m to do the circuit ... I could do 20 minutes on the circuit and still make it home and get ready on time ... I think I'll save that idea and not make any crazy commitments Ok, time to get thinking about doing a few things here before I get to bed. Hugs, Mo

Hello Terry Hope you had a great holiday. Sorry to hear about your mom's surgery. I know how that whole leakage and bandages is. My incision leaked a the bottom for over a month. Just a little section at the bottom would not heal. So it was bandages everyday and it was annoying. But prayers are sent her way for a uneventful and speedy recovery. Have a great week and take care Kell

Terry, let your mom know she's in my prayers. Thanks God she has a positive outlook. The mind is a powerful thing, and it's wonderful that good thoughts are on her side. Glad to hear that "mentally" she's feeling great! I believe that's a big part of the battle. My son (22) took my daughter (14) to a gym the other day. She worked out on their elliptical and it about killed her. It's been a few days, and she's still sore. I believe their going to work out again this PM. He got her a 14 day free membership. The gym is 25 minutes away, so I know I won't be taking advantage of it, but the weather this week is great for those who like to walk. Believe the AM I'll be heading in the high school to do a few laps. Have a good one! TraciL
