Good Wednesday Morning!
Actually, it's my Monday, since it's my first day back to work since the 26th!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that 2007 brings all of us good health, surgery dates and much happiness!!!
Our holidays were very nice, but really busy. I had KB lots, in order to keep them out of daycare, which they hate. We did lots, movies, games, cooking, etc. Not much rest involved, unfortunately, so Tia's tired today!!!!
Work seems to have been quiet, just waiting for the new Gov. to finish naming his cabinet. I figure it's gotta be soon, as he takes office 1/17. I have some office cleaning up to do - filing, which is my ultimate nemesis.
On a very positive note, I'm actually "kind" of glad to be back into a routine here at work as far as eating and drinking. ICK!! I'm pretty tired of seeing holiday foods!!! Looking forward to maintaining my protein and water intake. It's so hard to do when you're constantly on the run. On a much more positive note, I called my fitness center yesterday to make sure I could come back, and brought my workout clothes with me. No excuses! I'm going to start out slow, since I haven't been in several months, but hopefully, I'll be able to stay on track with it!!!
Don't forget, let's all keep Terry's McMom in our prayers today as she undergoes yet another procedure. Hopefully, this will be the last and she'll be able to resume her activities soon!!!!
Okay, let me know what's going on in your world. I did lurk some, so I'm pretty up to date, but let's dish anyway!!!!
Have a great day!
Tia
Hello all....I know, you all are thinking, "here she comes out of hiding (again)!"
Been busy for me too...we are closing my office this saturday, so my days are full of packing, arranging for the ambulances to get down to the other office, calming my crew's nervous minds, etc. I am looking forward to the move personally. With the move comes more responsiblity on my end, but I have always been one that is up for a challange.
I passed my final test to become a full-flegged paramedic...I am now the highest that anyone can go in the field!!! So that was my Christmas gift to myself.
Working on planning the wedding We have picked a date, a venue, and a band!! Now comes the rest of the fun stuff...I have decided to make our invitations, still have to find a florist, limo, and all of the little things. And I have realized...it is hard planning a wedding from 250 miles away (we are having it on Long Island, NY).
Vitamins, water, and food are all going well for me...I started back at the gym last night. Which for me was good since I dislocated my knee on Saturday. But, I took it easy and only did water walking, and then got into the hot tub!!! I am getting about 500 calories in a day, but I am never hungry, so I see that as pretty good for me. I am still away from carbs and sugar, which wasn't that hard to avoid during the holidays since I am never hungery.
Well back to work for me...TTYL!!!
Hey Les -
Welcome back! Yep, I was going to send out another BOLO - not just for you, but for several people who have been MIA recently!
Glad to hear all is well with you, congrats on the new cert - EMT-P, right? If I remember correctly from my Aviation days, that's the highest cert for a medic. I know it was a lot of hard work for you - what a triumph!!!
Okay, so when IS the wedding? Ohhh, NY - I love NY, although I've never been to Long Island, I guess I'm basing my love for NY on NYC!!! Try not to stress too much, it truly does take away from your enjoyment of the day.
Sorry to hear about your knee, glad it's good enough for you to hit the gym again. Could you please send me the "I'm not hungries?" I'm not, but my head IS!!!! Trust me, MAXIMIZE this post-op time - it won't happen again!!!
Thanks for checking in!!!
Tia
Hi Les! So, when's the big day? How exciting. I am sure it's tough planning for a wedding in another state. But I am sure everything will come together beautifully. Congrats on your paramedic exam. Sounds like things are moving for you.
That's so good that you are able to stay away from the carbs and sugar. For the most part, I can too. However, I have allowed myself way too much of the stuff this holiday season (albeit much less than in my pre-WLS life). I am doing pretty good though getting back to basics and sticking with protein first, etc. I did have some sugar free banana bread today. I guess its not really sugar free since the bananas have sugar in them. But I did make it with splenda. Pretty good actually. I have been keeping up with the exercise and plan on keeping it that way. Gives me so much more energy!
Have a fab day! Hugs, Robin
Hi Mo.
Glad to be back. I missed y'all! We had a really nice time this Christmas/New Years. It's going to be way too quiet in my house the next couple of days as we adjust to company going home. I wish my friend lived closer. She lives in New Mexico so we don't get to see each other that often. We are going there in May for her youngest daughter's high school graduation.
Hugs, Robin
Hey stranger
Yes, I KNOW you hate dialup .. but I'm suffering from Tia withdrawal
Our holidays were nothing special. I worked last week and Mr Mo was out in Frostburg doing software installs in Western MD so it was a pretty quiet week for us. I did finally decide on an mp3 player and we ordered it from Amazon.com on Saturday and now I am impatiently awaiting its arrival (shipped yesterday UPS from Lexington KY). My laptop croaked on New Years Day so I am getting my birthday present early. I've already ordered the new laptop just waiting for the shipping information on it
I have been pretty good with getting to the gym 2 nights and my Saturday a.m. workout. I actually attempted a round on the circuit last Saturday a.m. That is going to take some coordination. I either remember to fix the seat OR the weight but it seems not both !!!! And I was following a man MUCH taller than me who must have been lifting 75 pounds I've got my bag in the truck to get there tonight on the way home. Last night it was MOBBED at 5:15 I barely got a treadmill. I am contemplating trying to get there at 5 a.m .tomorrow to do the circuit before work since I am planning on the Crofton meeting after work.
My sister and my godmother stopped on their way through Annapolis yesterday and we went to lunch. That was a high point in an otherwise not so good day. There are a couple of things going on here that are driving me over the edge .... hoping to get them resolved soon so I can return to my usually bright and perky self!
Hugs, Mo
Hi Moie -
Yep, I missed you, too!!!! We were soooo busy that I barely had any time to myself. My therapist suggested I take more time for myself, and although I'm not sure where I can get that 25th hour of the day, I am going to make a concerted effort. Hopefully, working out will fit the bill and help alleviate some of my stress that's decided to take up residence in my neck and shoulders!
Like I said, I did read while I was off, and I hope things are better for you, now. Believe me, if you want a taste of Christmas with KB, you are more than welcome to join us next year. I swear, my brother's house looks as if Toys R Us exploded - too, too, too much stuff!!! My Dad said B was running around singing "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" this morning!!!! Lord help us!!!! 5 a.m.????? Alrighty, then!!!!
Step away from the edge - I know the election's brought you some unwelcome changes, hopefully things will even out soon!!!! Glad you got some family time in - maybe that will sustain you for a little while!!
Did Lefty get anything from Santa??? I know he's been a good boy this year!!
Well, MIS played with my computer while I was off - Help Desk is definitely an oxymoron!!! So I'd better get back to it!!!
Don't forget - you get to plan the next get-together!!! I'm game for just about anything, even if it's just lunch somewhere, or tea, or brunch, or just drinks!
Take care,
Tia
Hey there
Actually, Lefty got lots of extra attention .. he's become such a Daddy's boy ... and Mr Mo just pours it on ... plays with him, holds him, scratches his ears, etc. There are a couple of unflattering (to Mom) pics of Mommy napping with Lefty that Daddy snapped with his nifty camera phone ... I KNEW there was a downside to getting him that new phone.
I am struggling with a plan for the next get together. I might solicit some ideas on Thursday night from the gang down this way.
I always call it the HELPLESS desk. I just have to be careful who is around when I use that terminology. I have another friend who calls them the 'helpful' desk .. VERY tongue-in-cheek.
oh, look at the time .. it's Y & R time .. and LUNCH!!!
Hugs, Mo
