Newbie here

Hi all, I am starting on my hopefully short journey to wls. I had my first consultation on 12/9. The Dr is taking a long time to get the paperwork done. I have had to call a number of times to get the Dr to send the paperwork so that it can be sumitted to the insurance co. I have called the insurance co a number of times and they are so nice. I seem to know more from them then the Dr. Just with the Dr doing what she is with the paperwork has me sooooo nervous. Its starting to look like it may not happen or may be along time. I am really bummed. When I first started it seemed like it was happening really fast and things really fall into place.

Welcome! Have you had all of the medical tests completed? Once I finished mine, I wasn on the table in a matter of weeks? Aime

I am not sure. I had all my blood work. Not sure what all more I would need....

Welcome Shirley to the boards. Wishing you all the best on your journey. Who is the surgeon that will do your WLS? I am done with all my testing. I have one last supervised weight loss visit on jan 16th and then the surgeon's office will put in for the authorization. You can read my profile I have posted every test I had done. Hi Shirley! Welcome to the MD boards!!! Great group of people here. I know it seems like a long time but trust me....the time will fly!!! From my first consult to getting all my tests done to surgery was roughly three months...maybe a little under. I was amazed! Best decision I ever made for myself and I couldn't be happier! Congrats on making this decison and we will save you a seat on the loser's bench!!! ~Heather

Welcome Shirley!! well I am not the best person to talk about with time vs actual surgery.. it took me forever!! lol.. but I hear once you get all your prerequists done, its a matter of months.. Keep your head up, You'll be on the losers bench in no time!
