Hey guys.. My surgery date is 1/5 a mere 2 weeks away and I am feeling apprehensive. Its been a long time coming and I know this is the right thing to do but I guess I am just having pre-surgery jitters. Anyone have any helpful hints or insights they are willing to share? Thanks for any and all comments! Kimmy K.

You are right on schedule. About 2 weeks before my date, I almost backed out. Then I found this website. Reading the posts, looking at the before and after pics, and joining in on chat helped me stay focused. Keep telling yourself everyday the reasons for this surgery. Reinforce those reasons with a visit to your support website. Aime Moving on over to make room on the Loser's Bench for you.

Hi Kimmy, Being nervous is normal. You are about to give yourself a wonderful tool and make permanant changes to your lifestyle. It can be overwhelming but keep the faith. This is the best thing I ever did for myself and I wouldn't trade it for anything. What a wonderful way you are starting 2007!!! This board is a great place to come and just vent, talk, post about anything you have questions or fears about. We are all in this together and every day is a learning experience. You will do great and a seat on the loser's bench has your name on it!!!! Keep us posted and all my best for an unventful surgery and easy recovery. ~Heather

Hi Kimmy It's perfectly normal to be nervous and jittery as it gets closer. Be prepared for the after it's over ... OMG why did I do that phase ... then you will get to the I'm glad I did it stage .. and eventually to the I'd do it again in a heartbeat stage!!! None of it happens overnight and one stage/phase blends into another .. but I can tell you from personal experience it's the best thing I've ever done for myself!!! Best wishes as your WLS journey gets rolling. Hugs, Mo

Hi Kimmy, What you're feeling is perfectly normal. It is a big step. I'm sure you reached your decision and picked your surgeon after lots of research and you have faith in your surgeon. I've had not one regret with this surgery. Well okay, that first moment the day after surgery when I had to roll over and out of bed and I said to myself "Terry, what the heck did you do to yourself?" That only lasted a second or two. I have had a complication free surgery and recovery and the only thing I really regret is not having done this sooner. I say that, but I also realize that mentally I was not ready to do this sooner. You'll be fine, just follow your doctor's program and it'll be fine Take Care, Terry
