getting ready for the journey!!!
I have set up my appointment for my information session with DVR on 1/24/07. she is going to send out my packet and I am allowed to take a guest. that will be my hubby.
I called my insurance company today to find out the procedure for this kind of surgery. they gave me the fax number of the girls who gets all information to get the approval. I will have all doctors concerned to fax everything to her.
I have CareFirst BC/BS PPO. My hubby is retired from Baltimore City Fire Dept. I think our insurance is pretty good.
I figured out my BMI to be 41.9....morbidly obese. I am really wanting to go forwar now.
I am so happy to have support groups like this. Hopefully, I will meet alot of you on my way to my new life.
Love to you all...Gail
Gail,
That is just wonderful!! I remember when I got my packet at the end of october and I went for my information session on November 8th. It was very imformative and I loved both docotrs when i met them. I did spend a lot of time talking to DVR and he was just awesome and made me feel very comfortable. I then had the consult one week later!
make sure to take a copy of your insurance card back and front. On his site there these forms you can print and you can fill them out. I was glad I did that since one of the questionaires were missing in the packet. I was ready when i arrived at the info session and I was glad that I didn't have to fill out anything else I didn't want anything delayed.
best wishies on your journey and feel free to contact me if you want to know anything pre-op since I haven't had surgery yet. I am almost done with all my testing though!
Thank Goodness.
