Good Friday Morning Maryland!
Good Morning Everybody!
How is everyone today? Thank God It's Friday!!!
I'm cooking/serving dinner for 100 folks at church tonight so it's shaping up to be a busy day for me. It's been a busy week, but good McMom continues to improve and be more like herself. She's still got the JP drain in and she hates it. She's hoping it'll come out next Tuesday. She's talking about venturing out to the grocery store this morning.
So what's up in your world? Doing anything special this weekend? I've got the dinner tonight and tomorrow night, my church is presenting a Live Nativity. I'm coordinating the refreshments afterward...Yeah, put the former fat girl in charge of the hot chocolate and cookies....hehehe. Funny thing is, I may eat 1 or 2 cookies and that'll be it. Prior to WLS it would've been 10 or 12 cookies at a serving. Have fun a the dinner theatre on Sunday. I'm sorry I couldn't make it. Maybe next time!
How goes the eating, supplements, fluids, protein and exercise. Once again, I'm doing great on everything but the exercise. I will get back to that gym soon though!
Well I gotta run, have a wonderful day everybody!
Take Care,
Terry
WOO-HOO!!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!! I can't remember when I've been this happy to see a week end!! It's been crappy - between all these officers being used for target practice and the weather - ICK!!! Sooooo glad it's the weekend!!!
I've got a busy one, too - BUT, I DON'T HAVE KB ON SATURDAY!!! AMAZING!!!! It's Gary's weekend off, which he usually works, but since they're trying to cut back on overtime, they didn't call him in. I cannot remember the last time he actually had a Saturday off - thus, giving me one, too!!! Tonight, I've got to stop by the Amish Market - when we all went, Mom bought a pretty hand-painted candle shade, which K promptly broke!! So I want to replace it if I can. Gonna buy some cheese, too! Loved that pizza cheese Mo bought the last time! I'll probably sneek a peak at the pumpkin whoopie pies, too!! Then tomorrow, I've got to make meatballs and chocolate covered cheesecake bites for a party tomorrow night. Shopping, errands, etc., too, somewhere in there. Sunday we have a christening, so I won't make the dinner theatre, either. Hope you all have a blast!!! The January gathering (Mo, you're in charge!) should be a nice respite. At some point, we want to see Charlotte's Web and The Nativity Story. Yeah, right, we'll see if that happens.
I'm off on Monday, going to By The Docks for lunch - yummy!!! Somewhere in there, too, I've got to wrap presents. Although I did strongly hint to Dad that they're all on my bed, ready to wrap!!
Wow!! Dinner for 100!!! Being the Martha Stewart I know you are, I know you'll pull it off splendidly!!! The Living Nativity should be nice, make sure you take pictures!
Dr. Tia prescribes rest for you on Sunday. Tell McMom I'm thinking about her. BTW, what did you all think of the Wockenfuss truffles as opposed to Rhebs? Rhebs Rocks, but I do like Wockenfuss truffles better. Inquiring minds want to know....
Have a great weekend!!!!
Tia
hey Tia
I have to say .. I keep reading about your meatballs and the choc dipped cheesecake thingys and SEEING chocolate dipped meatballs!!! Is there a cure for my dyslexia ????
I've been having the dangest time posting this a.m. so I think I may give up and wait til later. I saw your jump in below and I'm going to respond, but probably later.
Hugs, Mo
Yeah, me, too, that's why I was so careful to say meatballs and chocolate covered cheesecake thingys and not chocolate covered cheesecake and meatballs!!! UGH!
Scary how alike we are!!!!!!!!
The whole system's weird today, I think. It keeps show 0 posts in reply to Terry's original. Maybe it was having a crappy week, too!
Tia
Good morning Terry
I am also EXTREMELY glad to see it be Friday. It's been a busy week here (they are all busy .. but this one seemed extra busy for some reason ... )
Last night was dinner with my staff. We went to Bill Bateman's in Severna Park. I got crab quesadillas .. they were OK (and I have left overs for lunch), but not something I would order there again Actually, Bill Bateman's is not one of my favorite places to eat anyway so I wasn't sure what I would end up with.
Since we were out to dinner last night, I skipped the gym. Was thinking I might go tonight, but didn't bring my stuff with me .. so it will depend on the motivation to change and go back out when I get home at 5. I do plan to be there at 7 a.m. tomorrow, so if I miss tonight I'll survive. I have a little muscle sore/stiffness in the front of my thighs from the ski thingy the other night. Guess that worked some unused muscles!!!
I MUST MUST MUST get out and do my Christmas shopping this weekend. I have to make a list of all the kids names so I don't accidently forget someone .. then decide what gift cards ... I heard that my sister's girls like Hollisters ... (a gift card goes farther at Hollisters than Abercrombie & Fitch) ..so I know I'll be at Annapolis Mall to get those. I might do GAP cards for the rest of them. I've been doing Old Navy cards for years, but it's time for a change. And maybe Best Buy for all the boys. It's a matter of getting out there and doing it. AND all of my stuff has to be mailed, so I have a mailing deadline hanging over my head too.
Enjoy your dinner tonight! I love to put on things for groups, but even I would probably be overwhelmed by a guest list of 100 plus!!!! Hope the weather cooperates for your live nativity tomorrow night. Some cooler weather is in order .. just not FRIGID!
Hugs, Mo
Hi Moie -
Just thought I'd jump in and say hey! Hey!
Pre-op, I thought Bateman's was okay - I've never been into wings - too much investment for too little return, but there used to be one in Dundalk that had pretty good mini-burgers. Not really one of my faves, though.
I've still got to get some gift cards, too. Don't really know what I'm waiting for, either!!!! Another gift card option, especially if the recipients aren't local, is American Express gift cards - I saw them in Giant the other night. I LOVE the fact that a lot of stores are carrying gift cards from all over now. One stop shopping!!!
I'm ready for some mailman weather, too - the office heater thinks it's 40 degrees out, so consequently, we all look like sticky, sweaty versions of ourselves!!
Have a great weekend!
Tia
Hi Again !
I was intrigued by the burgers last night .. they had a blue burger which is my all time FAVE !!!! but when I read the fine print it looked as though they wouldn't cook it rare enough for my tastes (or digestion ...) soooo I passed on it.
I should have done the responsible thing and gotten a salad .. but heck . I had a salad for lunch!!!
I might look at the AE cards. I was going to do Visa gift cards one year, til I saw how much the 'fee' was going to be for each one. Considering I was doing $20-30 cards I objected to paying $5/card to have them issued!!! The American Express ones might work really well though. I like the idea of a card that can be used anywhere / any store. I won a AE gift certificate a few years ago and it was great because I used it at Penny's to get something that had a rebate gift (XM radio thingy). I got Mr Mo 6 shirts AND I got a radio, and it's only cost Mr Mo the monthly subscription for my radio
Ok, time to get back to the list here.
Hugs, Mo
I like blue cheese burgers, too. There's a restaurant across the street from my office called The Backfin. They do your burgers as rare as you like - mine have to be medium now, semi-mooing, in order for Randy to be able to digest them. Anyway, they do this herb cheeseburger, which is just their normal burger with a plop of Alouette herb cheese - they broil it and the cheese gets kind of puffy/melty. YUMMY!!!
Speaking of blue cheese, the last time I was at Friday's, K tasted the blue cheese in my cobb salad, and I waited until it was in her mouth to tell her it was mold! I AM SUCH A BAD TIA!!!
Gee, thanks, now I'm hungry!

Good afternoon everyone! I don't think I'll ever make it for the morning, unless it's extremely early. We have a two hour early dismissal, so leaving in 20 minutes to head back out on the bus. This AM, I treated my high schoolers to Shoppers Food Warehouse donuts and drinks. They loved it! It's my yearly Christmas treat to them. Why I do it, I don't know. No really, they're a good group, minus the few yahoos! Had enough donuts left over to treat my middle schoolers too. That worked out perfectly. Tomorrow, daughter has a ROTC drill team meet in King George VA. Hubby took off to go with me and my son to watch her get yelled at by Marines. Should be interesting. Will also be a full day. Sunday is the dinner theatre and I can't wait. Hope it turns out great! Sure it will.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend no matter where your going or what your doing.
Later!
