Had my second supervised visit with Sloan today.
needless to say she was nice but happy with me. I gained 4 1/2 pounds this past month and I am going the wrong way! ughhhh I am so disappointed with myself.
I need to lose these 4 1/2 pounds or more by my next visit on January 15th. That will be my last supervised weight loss visit and I was told they will put in for an authorization for the surgery. If I gain more I will most likely get dinied or have everything postponed. These holiday cookies, meals and everything else under the sun is NOT good for me!! lol
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? Well, I know I need to stop all the good I mean bad stuff. Maybe I should replace two of my meals with protein shakes. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I want to do good and be approved for my wls.

I really don't have any advice, I know this is a tough time!! Your idea of replacing meals with protein shakes is a good one. If cutting out the 'good' stuff makes you feel deprived don't give it up, but be careful of the quantities. A cookie now and then is ok, but a handful of cookies now and then is NOT so ok.

Cira, keep the faith. I'll jump on board with Mo and Kelly with the protein shake in place of a meal idea. It certainly can't hurt! Try not to stress about it, because we know that stress makes some of us eat uncontrollably. Just remind yourself that your eating to be healthy. Keep busy! Also, when it comes right down to it, ditch the "bad" stuff. You won't believe how many times I do this when something keeps calling my name.

I would ask DVR if 4 lbs would have an effect on your possibility for surgery. I think Sloan was most likely trying to get you to be more aware since the holidays are here. It is so easy to gain weight at this time of year for any number of reasons- stress being the major one. Having a protein shake or carnation instant breakfast might help and not add to that deprived feeling we often get when we are dieting.
Don't let yourself feel deprived especially at this time of year- make yourself feel empowered. You will have your seat on the bench.

What you have said is so true. I have been stressing big time too and I even had an arthritis flare up with I am swollen in my hands and ankles half way up my leg. But you know although I explained that to Sloan she looked at me like yeah ok. lol It being the Holidays is not helping either. I need to be good and do this for me.. Thank you so much for your support. I am empowered and I am going to knock itty bitty minnie Slon off her socks when I see her on the 16th.
