I'm sorry to say that one of Maryland's Finest, one of our Troopers, was shot early this a.m. I have a name, but unfortunately, at this time, I'm not at liberty to disclose it. I know he was working with a task force, serving a warrant, when he was shot, and that the assailant was shot and killed, but I have no further details other than we flew him to Shock Trauma. If anyone can save him, the Trauma Center can, but at this time, no one knows or is saying if he will live. Please, please pray for this man, his family and our Department. A line of duty death is obviously always devastating, but hopefully, it won't come to that. So as you can imagine, things will be pretty crazy here today. Let's all take a moment and say a prayer and keep Terry M., McMom and her sister, Cindy, in our thoughts. Terry's brother's birthday would've been today, but unfortunately, he died too young in a car crash, and I'm sorry, but I don't know the year. So let's give them the strength to remember him and get through this day. Well, I'm just a barrel of sunshine this morning, so I think I'll go. Have a good day everyone - and remember to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Tia

Good Morning Yes, I heard that on the news about the Trooper being shot. I hope he makes it and makes a full recovery. He and his family are on my prayer list. You just gotta wonder about some people (the deviants/criminals in our society). I can imagine things are crazy there in times like this. I guess things are kind of in a turmoil with the new Col. coming on board soon too. I appreciate the thoughts about my brother, but his birthday is Thursday, the 14th. He would've been 45 this year. I'll be 44 tomorrow. As you can imagine we were very close and it was devastating when he died (he was 17). We think about him everyday and have good memories, but you can imagine at this time of year it's especially emotional. It doesn't help that my Dad died at the age of 39 on December 17th. He's been gone so long, I really have to dig deep to remember him. My sister (who is 22 months younger than me) has virtually no memories of him. My Mom has done a good job keeping him "alive" for us by telling us stories, etc. throughout the years You are a barrel of sunshine Tia, and don't ever change, we like ya just the way ya are! I hope your day gets better as opposed to "going downhill". Hugs, T

Morning honey - Now I'm hearing he was shot in the arm, but they found blood on his chest and don't know if it's scatter-blood or another wound. Waiting.... Don't know if there's going to be a new Colonel. I keep hearing this one is staying, but O'Malley's not yet named all of his Cabinet Secretaries, so here's hoping. I am such a dummy, I had it marked on my calendar that his birthday was the day before yours, not after. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Regardless, know that I'm thinking of you all. Yep, that's me, a barrel, although a smaller barrel as opposed to last year, of sunshine!!! Love ya, T.
