Reconstructive surgery
I am thinking down the road. I just had lap band on Nov. 21 so I have a long time to work this problem. Has anyone used or thought of using creams, moisturizers for the skin that has been stretched out from obesity??? I am 61 and probably don't have the amount of elastity that a younger person has. Does anyone have experience or sage words of advice about this topic???? Thanks Diane H
Hi Diane,
I'm with you in the elasticity thing. I think I would like a tummy tuck to take care of the hanging 'panni' if / when I get to a goal that I am happy with. I'm pretty fortunate that my arms don't hang too much, and I'm just going to deal with the elephant knees.
I am trying to be good about using moisturizers, but I haven't tried anything specific for stretch marks.
Best wishes as your WLS journey continues.
Hugs, Mo
Hi Diane! Funny you should mention...
My neighbor is a Mary Kay Senior Exec. Director. I called her the other day because my skin has been SO dry...like chapped lips all over! Mary Kay has so much new stuff that I didn't know what to chose on their web site, so I called her. She told me that MK has a new product that is guaranteed (I'm sure that's used loosely) to reduce sagging skin. I just turned 60 Friday and am six weeks out. I'm already seeing the new wrinkles in my hands which is giving me some "pause" about what's going to happen to the rest of my body.Anyway, she's coming over tomorrow to go over these products. I'll let you know which product it is if you want...

Dear Joyce: Thanks for the reply. Yes, please let me know what you learn. By the way, I have followed the Maryland posts and know that you are new and want to be a part of the Crofton support group. I am trying to fit in too, but Crofton seems so far away. There is a group for me called the Lexington Park Losers but they are breaking up as of Dec 21st because the leader has been in the club sooo long that she has lost interest. I can understand that if you have had surgery 5-6 years ago. I think Lex Park Losers are at an end. Maybe I will travel the miles to be part of the Crofton group. Hope to meet you. Thanks again. Diane H.
