Looking for support in or around Bowie, MD

Hello! I recently had surgery on October 24 and am looking for a support group to attend. I attend a group now, but would like another one closer to home also. I could really use some advice on some things. If anyone has any groups or places I can go...I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much, Joyce

Hi Joyce, your more than welcome to attend the Crofton Support Group meeting. Kelly Wheeler is the contact person. The next date is Dec. 21, at the Crofton Library. I'm sure she'll be posting with info as the date gets closer. Here's some info from her last post reference the meeting. "Good evening everyone. I just wanted to post our December meeting date on here and We decided we would do a little gift exchange. The meeting date is December 21st I think it is a Thursday (sorry I dont have a calender sitting in front of me) If you do not want to participate in the gift exchange you do not have to. Hi Joyce There's a very active group on this board that meets for both support and social gatherings. Traci mentioned the Crofton group that Kelly has gotten going again. There's also a group that gets together randomly (about every 4 to 6 weeks) to spend a Saturday or Sunday having a meal .. chatting. ... shopping, etc. Welcome to the Maryland board. Hi Joyce - Just wanted to welcome you to the loser's bench and the MD board!! I'm not in or around Bowie (eastern Baltimore County here), but echoing what Traci and Mo said. We have an informal group that gets together every 4-6 weeks, our next gathering is 12/17 at Timonium Dinner Theatre to see "It's a Wonderful Life," which Traci is spearheading.
