Big Vanilla
Ok gang .. I've done it .. I called Big Vanilla and spoke to them about a membership, etc. I am going to stop there on my way home today and have a tour and check it out. The big incentive to go today is a promotion with a $0 enrollment fee. The monthly fee is reasonable also. I'm not sure I'll be able to get Mr Mo to go along with this, but I think I'm in!!! I'm not dressed to do anything but take a tour of the facility today, but I think I will be able to get a good idea.

I'm just going to have to be commited to packing my workout bag in the a.m. and stopping on the way home on the days I go to the gym.
The woman I spoke with on the phone wanted to know a bit about me and what I was looking for. I told her I was a WLS patient and that I was not in the least a 'gym' rat. She assured me that their facility is not a gym rat kind of place. It's family oriented with a lot of different programs.
I am SOOOO hoping that I like this and will stick with it and see some positive results.

Hi Traci,
For me convenience is the key. BV is about 2 miles from the house (if I have to go home first), and while I don't normally pass by there on the way home, I can stay on Ritchie Hwy, and run by there on the way without it being WAY out of my way.
I had a friend a while back who had an in at Sport Fit in Bowie that would get me a very discounted membership there. I didn't even bother because I knew the chance of me going to Bowie to work out on any regular basis was pretty much a no go.

Hi Cira,
Well, I'm signed up at Big Vanilla. I didn't do the whole tour thing. I got there about the time I will normally be going and saw what the crowd was like and saw the workout room from up above and figured I had seen all I needed to see to make my decision.
I go on Monday evening at 6 for my initial assessment and to start my program.
Hugs, Mo
