Good Thursday Morning!
Good Thursday Morning Everybody!
How is everyone today? The fog is as thick as pea soup this morning. I hope everyone makes it to work okay today! So what's up in your world? Doing anything special this weekend? Tomorrow a friend of mine is taking me out for my birthday. We're having a "girlie" day - facials, pedicures and lunch. That should be fun, we don't get to see each other as often as we used to. I plan to get the rest of my holiday baking done this weekend. I also need to bake something to take to a hymn festival that I'm participating in with my church choir. I'm so glad the Bible says "make a joyful noise" - I'd be in trouble if it said "make a pretty noise"...hehehe. We're not too bad actually, we have a terrific choir director *****ally gets the most out of a group of marginally capable vocalists. Not downing me or my choir mates, just being realistic, we have no real "standout" vocalists. We're small but earnest - maybe 10 members this year.
McMom is doing much better after being on antibiotics for another 24 hours and having the two drains removed. I'm not sure when they plan to remove the third one. I'm hoping that when she goes to surgery next Tuesday that she'll come home sans the drain. I don't know if a drain will be required for the skin graft.
This weekend I'm also going to make my Christmas shopping list so that I can finish that up. I've still got the same things on my wish list as last year - world peace, a cure for cancer and a nice man to share my life with...hehe. I wi**** were THAT easy!
How goes the eating, drinking, supplements, protein and exercise? I'm doing good on all counts except the exercise (if you count going to the gym). I may actually get on my elliptical trainer this afternoon. Then dinner, choir practice and home to watch the Ravens kick the Bengal's butts!!!
Well I'm at work early and hope to be out of here by 10 or 11 today so I can get home to take care of McMom. I may get to check back in here this afternoon, we'll see.
Have a Wonderful Day!
Take Care,
Terry
Terry, thanks for the fog alert. I'm a school bus driver, and you would think that after so many years of driving the same route, that I could do my run with a blindfold on. Once you add fog into the equation, it puts a new spin onto my morning. Turns, stop signs, lights, THE KIDS, etc. are never where I left them the day before. Wish me luck! Nothing really outstanding going on today. Just keep on chugging! Glad to hear that your mom is feeling a little better and that two drains were removed. I'm sending her and you and your sis big hugs. I'm sure their needed. Take it easy and here's a early HAPPY BIRTHDAY for ya!!

Good morning Terry
It amazes me that you can be up and in the office at such an EARLY hour!!! Even if I was working flex time, I am not sure I could do it
Sounds like McMom is on her way to feeling much better. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for the skin graft next week.
I am STILL commited to calling Big Vanilla this week. I came back to my office a couple of times yesterday intending to do it, but then got side-tracked by work of all things. Then I was going to do it when I got home last night and again got off track. I wonder if 8 a.m. is TOO early to call????
I used the last of my lettuce yesterday so no salad for lunch today. (my standard lunch is a romaine salad with either shrimp, beef or chicken and some cheese with balsamic dressing). I have some black bean & filet chili left from dinner the other night that I bought in to heat up. It amazes me that I had it for dinner at the restaurant .. then one night this week and now a lunch ??? I have difficulty comprehending how much I used to eat!!!
They are doing masonry work around our building and my office is on the ground floor so I have a man right outside my window with a drill. I am thinking that I may need to close the blinds .. or vacate if the noise gets to be too much.
Your Ravens best kick some Bengal butt because I picked the Ravens in my pool! I took a beating last week on my picks so this week I MUST do better
Ok, work beckons so I best get to it.
Have a great day !
Hugs, Mo
Morning -
My, driving has certainly been....fun! What a week! And it looks like today may be my Friday - K's still sick and if she has to stay home tomorrow, I'll be with her. Mom could watch her, but I don't want Mom exposed, especially since we're leaving for NYC on Wednesday.
Oooh, a pedi - I love having my feet massaged!!! Sounds like it'll be a fun, stress-relieving kind of day for you!!! Which I know you need.
So glad to hear McMom's doing better, I can't imagine that she'll need a drain in for the skin graft, but since there's no M.D. behind my name, what do I know?
I'm going to finish my shopping and start my wrapping (I HATE wrapping) this weekend. We finished the kids long ago, with the exception of little things I've picked up here and there. It's always the "here and there" things that kill my budget!!! Also have some baking/candy making lined up, sounds like it's going to be a good weekend to have the oven going.
Unfortunately, I'm right there with you - Santa, please bring Terry and me decent, kind, single, family oriented men!!!! It's funny, I bought a CD at a yard sale recently. Bryan White, I'm not sure if you're familiar with him, but he was a rising country star several years ago who seems to have dropped out of the public eye. Don't know where he is, but he's a great singer. Anyway, he does a song called, "Someone Else's Star," and the gist of it is that everyone around him has someone to love, and he can't imagine why he doesn't, but figures that he must be "wishing on someone else's star." So that's our problem, T, I think that's what we're doing. I stand convinced that someone will eventually come along, but since I turn 40 in March, I'm starting to think, "what if they don't?" Oh, well, if it doesn't happy, I'm (and you) are still so blessed in our lives. We'll grow old together in a condo with cats and beagles!!!!!
Well, the Colonel is here unexpectedly, so I better see what's going on.
Have a great day!!!
