Anyone in or around Annapolis?
I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 21st with Dr. von Rueden at GBMC. I live in Annapolis, but work closer to Baltimore. Just looking for some buddies in the area!! I am excited to attend my first support group meeting and talk to people who have been through this/are going through this!!!

Keep coming back to the board for news about upcoming group get togethers and support meetings. There are several support and social groups going on the board that overlap.

Hi Jessica- Welcome and Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I live in Crofton but grew up in Annapolis. We have a support group here in crfton if you ever want to join us. Our next meeting is the same day as your surgery but we have one in January at the Crofton Library on redel road. Keep us posted on your surgery and hope everything goes well

Welcome to the board. I live in Middle River, in eastern Baltimore County, about an hour away from Annapolis. Like Mo said, there are some great folks on this board, and we have an informal support/social group that tries to get together about every 4-6 weeks. December's gathering is Sunday, 12/17 at Timonium Dinner Theatre to see "It's a Wonderful Life." Let us know if you're interested.
Having said that, I just wanted to let you know that you're in wonderful hands with DVR. He, his staff and the hospital are all great. He's a fantastic surgeon, and once you get to know him (he's a little shy/reserved), he's very warm and caring. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about post-op life and his program.

Welcome to the Maryland room and congrats on coming to the losing side! Your surgery is right around the corner, how fantastic is that!?!?! I live in Churchton which is about 30 minutes or less from Annapolis. I had my surgery on October 3rd and this is the BEST thing I could have ever done for myself. This is a fantastic room and a great bunch of people.....I have found a good support system through this room and the Crofton Support Group. We are meeting again on the day of your surgery so hopefully you will want to come to the next one in January. Take care and keep us posted!!!!
