Good Monday Morning Everybody!
Good Monday Morning Everybody!
How is everyone? How was your Thanksgiving? your weekend? Everybody got the holiday hangover this morning like I do? I'm working from home today (thank you God for understanding employer's) so I can keep an eye on my Mom. I'm calling the Dr. this morning and we may be taking at trip this afternoon. Mom's doing okay, but she's having a little complication that will require a skin graft. She's in some pain from the surgery (not the skin issue) and is not bouncing back like she thinks she should (gee, imagine that, at 75 she's not ready to get up and dance yet). She is a trooper and doesn't complain at all, but I hate seeing her this way. She can't get comfortable with these darn JP drains (she's got 3 of them) and it's been two weeks today since her surgery. I'm confident the Dr. will remove at least one of them when we see her, possibly two.
My eating has been okay. I'm getting all my protein in, but I have had non-sugar free pumpkin pie this weekend...oh it was yummy. I'm just wore out. After two weeks of non-stop moving/running. I'm not complaining...but just seems like I get up in the morning (no later than 6:00am) and go, go, go and don't stop until I hit the hay at around midnight or so. I get in bed and can't fall asleep because I'm thinking of "stuff". Fluids have been at least 64oz, but not as much as I usually drink (100-120oz). Exercise has been non-existent, but like I said, I've been going, going, going..I'll get back to it soon.
So what's up in your world?
Have a wonderful day!
Take Care,
Terry
Great minds think alike! We must've been posting at the same time.
Sorry to hear McMom's going through all this - I'm sure it's mentally draining on all of you in addition to being physically draining for her. Keep me posted after she goes to the doctor - I'll be in the office until 4, and on the cell after that.
I soooo sympathize with the dreaded JP drains. I only had one after my surgery, but for the 10 days that it was in, it didn't allow me to get any sleep because of it's internal positioning. What a pain - literally!!!
Take care of Terry today, too!
Tia
Good morning Terry
I'm sorry to hear that McMom is not quite ready to dance yet ... I think for her age she is doing remarkably well though .. but she deserves to be comfortable.
We had a great trip to NC. Once we got through Virginia on Thursday the skies dried up and eventually the sun came out and it was 70 and beautiful when we got to Mocksville. We had a nice day on Friday as well. Met another chat friend at the track on Friday a.m., we walked around and checked out the sale items. Mr Mo and I ended up filling one $50 card to get the track laps, then I made a $25 donation to get another card. I have pictures of me with Big Blue on the track as well as in Victory Circle at LMS and then I took pictures of the track while Mr Mo was driving. I'll try to get it organized tonight.
We took advantage of Verizon's buy one get one free on the RAZR phones this weekend and upgraded our phones while we were in NC also. Turns out it was a good idea, because Mr Mo thought he had 'left' his phone at home but when we got back he couldn't find it at all, so apparently he 'lost' it.
Yesterday we left the house about 8:30 a.m. to go to breakfast and got home at 6:30 last night. It was a LONG day. We started and ended in Millersville .. the truck stop for breakfast, then Laurel to Wally World and Sam's, then Bowie Town Center, then back to Millersville to Hella's .. I finally got my crab cake from Hella's but had to pay for it by sitting and watching hours of football with Mr Mo's buddies .. LOL ..
I was out like a light by 8:30 last night ... and now it's another week in the office ... I'm with Tia .. I want to be independently wealthy .. and stop this work nonsense.
Hugs, Mo
Hey Terry. We had a nice Thanksgiving. Traffic wasn't bad at all and we really enjoyed seeing the in-laws. (see post on Tia's thread) I am sorry McMom isn't feel so great. I am sure she is doing really well, considering her age. But like most of us women, we think we should bounce back quickly and let nothing hold us down, especially sickness/surgery. We girls are just like that. Not to mention that age should never be a factor!
I will likely be pretty busy all week. I am coordinating the dinner for the Cappies group on Thurs. for Stephanies fall play. It has been a bit of a headache but I think its coming together well. I hope anyway! I just need to confirm my pizza order and plan for all the shopping for little stuff that I need to pick up. Hopefully I'll finalize details about the salad and veggies tonight. Then I'll truly be all set. I am taking Thurs off so I don't have to deal with work and knowing that I have to run around doing stuff for the dinner too. It'll be better for my sanity! I am glad to be able to volunteer at my daughters school for once. I don't get to do much for them as work tends to take my time. But this I can do and I know food and entertaining so this is right up my alley.
Well, I have to run. Gonna get some lunch and then get the rest of my work done. Have a great day.
Hugs, Robin
