Hi Natalie, Welcome to Maryland! I don't have any personal experience with him, but I believe that Dr Barry Greene is in the Rockville area. I am sure someone else will pop on and confirm that. Good luck! Hugs, Mo

Oh Nat honey... I completely understand...I was diagnosed with an ulcer where my pouch empties into my intestines. It took 5 days in the hospital, lots of tests, and an EGD to finally figure out why I was having pain in my pouchAfter a successful treatment with Carafate and now a maintenance drug of Prevacid...I'm doing much better Ok..back to your question. Dr. Barry Greene is in Silver Spring. One of the girls in my support group is his patient and LOVES him. My doctor is in Baltimore Dr. Mark Kligman...and I LOVE him too! Email me if you want more information...love ya honey bunny Oh...I almost forgot...congrats on the "delivery" of your tumor. Tanya

Natalie: I hear that Dr. Barry Greene is an excellent surgeon however he is in Silver Spring as is my surgeon, Dr. Gary Harrington. However, Dr. Harrington is a very sought out surgeon when it comes to gastric bypass revisions. He is a general surgeon who specializes in bariatric surgery and has been featured in Oprah's magazine. He may be your best choice if you are willing to travel a little bit. I live an hour from him but he is worth the drive. Good luck.

Dr. Greene used to be in Silver Spring, but has been in Rockville for several years. As Elizabeth posted, his office is in Rockville, on Medical Center Drive, part of the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital complex. You should contact his office as soon as possible; we were just discussing post-op stomach acid issues with him at our support group meeting last night. He's definitely your go-to surgeon for this problem Best of luck to you.

My surgeon is Dr. Alex Gandsas at Sinai Hospital. He's EXCELLENT!!! I do think he does revisions. He's one the top surgeons to perform lap surgeries.

Natalie, While Dr. Barry Green is well respected on this site, you might want to do some research about his program. I know I will probably get flamed but.... Dr. Green has VERY strict ideas about carbs....way MORE strictive diet than my surgeon likes...my Aunt had surgery with him and is doing well...and I have attended a few of his support group meetings...but...most of the meetings are spent being guilty about eating carbs...my nut plan works well for me and I have lost ALL my excess weight and am maintaining.... My Aunt has been brainwashed, and there is NO other way to describe it...that I WILL gain my weight back because I eat more than 20-25 carbs per day....and she wonders why she is tired all the time...anyway...there is NO room for guilt in my healthy diet. So, please don't flame me, but it is only fair to explain Dr. Green's program, which obviously works for many. RAE

You are right that his program is strict on carbs..however the limit is being changed by his current nutritionist. And....if you need a surgeon IN Rockville who is very skilled and knows his stuff about bariatric surgery, he's very good. I had my surgery with him, and don't adhere to the carb limit rule. Dr. Greene knows this, and we both just deal with it. He also takes in patients from other surgeons and treats them as if he did the surgery on them himself. Please don't let his strict stand on carbs scare you away.
