Hi Pat, Welcome home I'm glad to hear you made it through surgery without any complications. It will get better Just follow your surgeon's program. Try to get your fluids and protein in. It seems kind of impossible in the first few weeks (it seems like you're either eating or drinking all the time), but it will get better. Try to move around as much as possible - walking is good Take Care, Terry

Hi Pat, Welcome home! I understand that feeling. Life is much different in many ways than when you left for the hospital. I gained fluid weight in the hospital, too, but it went away quickly. You haven't come home with a baby but you have come home with the chance for a new life. I agree that following your doctor's program is going to be a lifesaver and you also have us. Hang in there, it is really going to get better. Each day, you will feel a little stronger and as you see the pounds melting away, you will be glad you did it. All the best, Julie

Pat: Thank goodness it's over and you have so much to look forward to. The first week is the worst. You are never prepared for just how bad it is in the beginning but it is worth it. I'm 8 weeks post op and starting to finally feel like a real person even though I still get nausea alot and I'm always thirsty. Just hang in there and it will all work out. I've come down 3 pant sizes in 2 months and to me that makes it all worth while. Just hang in there..... you're on the other side now.

Welcome home Pat. I've developed a motto about this surgery which hopefully you will soon get to utilize. Stronger Everyday. Everyday I'm able to do a little bit more. Walk a little bit further/faster. Lift a little more weight. Play with my kids a little longer. Lose a little bit more weight. All of it adds up to a wild and wonderful journey. Baby steps right now. It's going to get so much better everyday. -Daniel
