Happy Tuesday!
Good morning gang
For those of us working this week, it's MID-week .. only one more day til Thanksgiving Day. I'm off for the 4 day weekend and Mr Mo and I have planned a quick road trip to NC. We are leaving on Thursday morning and driving 7-ish hours down to the Charlotte/Concord/Kannapolis area. Dinner will be either where ever we find a place that is open OR with friends in Mocksville NC. On Friday we will be up bright and early to go to the souvenier blow out sale at Lowes Motor Speedway (as IF we could possibly need anything ... ). For every $50 spent you get to drive your personal vehicle on the track. In years past they also let you make a flat $$$ donation to Speedway Children Charities to drive on the track. I am thinking I might just do that if I don't spend $50. I've driven the Blazer on the track twice and this time we are taking the big bad truck. I'm sure I'll have tales for you when I get back. Unless our plans change again, we will be on the road home early on Saturday so that we are back to meet Jeff & Wendy for our usual Saturday night out. I'll be EXHAUSTED on Sunday for sure.
In the mean time, I have things to get done here in the office before I take off so I had best get with it.
Have a wonderful Tuesday, and I'll check back on you later.
Hugs, Mo
Good Morning!
Happy Tuesday! I am so hoping I am busy today. The car business is so slow right now that I am pulling my hair out trying to find stuff to do. My boss is out today so I get to deal with 'co-worker from hell" all day. Thank goodness for the short work week! I have to work Friday though.
I'm planning on going with my best friend and her hubby and their kids to her MIL's house for Thanksgiving. I'm making an apple crumb pie and a pumpkin pie. Won't be tasting it though! I'm OK with that as well.
Mo, I hope you get pics of the big bad truck on the track. I would love to see that! That sounds like a fun 4-day weekend.
I did find out that Kmart is going to be open on Thanksgiving day from 7AM to 9PM so I think I am going to get up and be there when they open and get as much of my Christmas shopping done as I can. I'm not buying for too many people this year but the more I can get out of the way now the better. I hate crowds, makes me nuts so the sooner I get done the better! I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and great Thanksgiving. I think one thing I am greatful for is the people in this room. I feel so fortunate to have found this site and this room. Everyone is so kind and an inspiration to me. Thank you for that! Hope everyone has a great and happy day!!!

Have a good time Christmas shopping! I might try to get some done next week after the Black Friday rush. I hate this time of year at the malls and shopping centers. The spirit of Christmas is surely lacking in most rude shoppers and drivers. I'm super busy so I'll check in with you a while later. Short week means extra busy days and I'm doing payroll today. I will try to get online tonight
Hey Heather, Know what you mean, had payroll yesterday UGH but done! How's your dad doing? I agree about the rude shoppers and drivers and forget about anyone being nice about a parking spot! I like going shopping either really early when the stores open or really late. Since I am kidless and manless that makes it easier for me to go when I want. I love going to Walmart and Target late at night. I think their hours change for the holidays....some are open 24 hours WOOHOO!!!!
Robin, good luck on your trip. Hopefully it won't take that long and yes I'm sure the DVD players are a blessing!!! I can understand about not wanting to talk about your weight loss, that's the main reason I am not going to my parent's neighbor's house with them for dinner. They are great people but I have nothing to really talk to them about and I know my surgery will be a main topic of conversation so I would just rather avoid it. Have a safe trip and a fantastic Turkey day!

Payroll for me takes 3 days to process. 200+ employees and pretty complicated. Dad is doing pretty good. They determined it wasn't a heart attach because the blood work had no heart enzymes show up and the stress test was fine. It was probably a bad anxiety attack. They DID find his platelets and red count to be high. So he needs to see an oncologist or blood specialist. He's been having stabbing pains near where his kidneys are, but so far tests show nothing. I bet it's all connected. I can't wait until the stores are open late. That's when I get my best shopping done! We need to get together one weekend. How far are you from Rosedale/White Marsh?
Heather
Hi Heather
Things are not so much slow here as 'quiet' because people are out. My usual cohorts are not around to 'cohort' with so I'm both busy and quiet.
We just had a staff meeting and my boss mentioned a storm that is off the coast that might impact our trip. I think we will be going regardless, but I'm not really in favor of traipsing around in the rain
I am the world's laziest Christmas shopper. We don't buy except for the kids and since most are 'teens' I am into gift cards BIG time. I'll make a couple of trips to Old Navy and Best Buy and be done with it.
Hugs, Mo
Hi ya Mo,
Well just be careful if the weather is bad. I am a big fan of gift cards as well. But this year I think I am going to do more actual shopping than gift cards. I'm actually in the christmas shopping mood(I know shoot me!!)
Work is still slow so I went out at lunch and picked up some turkey breast, provolone cheese and whole wheat wraps and made my own wrap for lunch....nice and full of protein!!! Hey, where's Tia and Terry been? Hope everything is good with McMom. Well, at least only a little more than 5 hours to go!!! WOOHOOO

Hi Mo. Happy Thanksgiving.
We are heading to Connecticut on Wednesday night. I am so not looking forward to that trip. I have tried, to no avail, to get my hubby to agree to driving on Thurs morning. I just belive that the traffic will be sooo much better then. But he wants to get up there Wednesday. I don't think he realizes that we probably won't get to his brothers hours until well afte midnight. It's only supposed to take 4.5 hours to get there but we are going up 95 & the NJ turnpike during peak rushhour and holiday traffic times. Yep, its just not going to be pretty. Last time we went to CT on a holiday like that it took us 11 hours to make an 7/8 hour trip. And that was on labor day weekend and we left at noon. This time it's Thanksgiving weekend and we aren't going to get on the road until after 6PM. Thank goodness for DVD players!
So enough complaining about the trip. Now that its out of my system I can sit back and enjoy it. I hope it goes really well. No one has seen me since my surgery so that should be interesting. My MIL absolutely LOVES to talk about diets and what she is currently doing to lose weight. I don't really want to spend the entire time focusing on that but I know it can't be avoided. She has lost a lot of weight in the past year herself. She got sick and couldn't eat but about 7 different kinds of food. She is better now thankfully and she benefited from a great side effect of being sick. She's lost about 50-60 lbs. I know it makes her feel really good. I am proud of her. Hopefully though we can find other things to talk about. It's sometimes embarassing to talk about weight loss all the time. That might sound weird but for me it's just not a subject I want to talk in depth about.
Oh, I think I finally converted my profile. I don't know how to archive things yet, but I'll figure that out soon. I am going to try and get my strawberries back into the background. I am a little slow with the learning curve for webpages, profiles and such. But I'll figure it out soon.
Gonna be quiet at work for a couple of days. I have stuff to do but it is mostly getting travel info finalized. That's not hard. Not a lot of meetings happening this week. I am off for 4 days and I am so looking forward to it. I need the time off. Too bad it can't be longer. I hope to get a couple of the girls Christmas gifts this weekend. It'll be good to get some things out of the way. I am never good at getting shopping done early. I'll be gather things until the last minute I am sure. lol. Hopefully we can get our tree bought and decorated this weekend too.
I hope everyone has a safe, happy and thank-filled Thanksgiving.
Hugs, Robin
