I am in the process of trying to get surgery. After alot of research and hard thought and prayer, I feel this is what I need to do. I am going with the DS. I am scheduled to go to an information seminar in early December then meet with the PA in the surgerons office the next week. Any advice on what I can do to make the insurance approval any easier? What are the good and not such good things to expect about the surgery.
Thanks for any tips/advice!

I'm not familiar with the procedure, but I'm sure they are. Best of luck on your WL journey. It will be nice seeing a new face on the boards. Please keep us updated.

Jill,
The only advice I can give you is to get everything in order. If you have any comorbidities it helps and if you have your doctor/doctors write letters stating the weightloss surgery will improve or irradicate your comorbidities it helps A LOT. My endocrinologist, GYN, and primary all wrote letters. I had diabetes (oral and insulin meds), high blood pressure (still on these pills), PCOS, and arthritis. I am completely off my diabetes meds already!
