A THANKSGIVING TALE
Just thought I'd give you a funny, but true story that we repeat every Thanksgiving and Christmas - kind of like a deranged blessing:
When my brother, Gary, was little, he called a certain body part his "turkey." Yes. In addition, he called the fly in his underwear and jeans his "turkey chute." I swear. For years, this is what it was called. Don't ask me why, I don't even think he knows.
Now, just like clockwork, every year, Dad will say, "Can you put gravy on my turkey?", to which we respond, "But Dad, that'll burn!!!" and then we just lose it. Now, you'd think that after all these years, it wouldn't be funny, but noooo, we still laugh hysterically. Our Thanksgiving dinner is chock-full of stupid, silly things like this, but that's what makes our holidays special. Chevy Chase has NOTHING on us!!!!!
This would explain why Brian calls it a "weeter," and why, at the age of 3, he was screaming, "Pagina!" in Kmart!!!!! Anyway, I'll be on here sporadically next week since I'm off (did I ever tell you how much I HATE dial-up?). But I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your friendship and support. And for putting up with my weird sense of humor!!! I have the most wonderful time when I'm with all of you!!
Y'all are the best!!!!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! If anyone is going to be alone, please email me - we can't have that!!!
Hugs, smooches & pumpkin fluff to ya!!

Tia, cute post! You guys have a great Thanksgiving and time off. I only have to work Monday and Tuesday next week, and then I'm off for 5 days. Yea!!!!! So in need of a mental break. Here's the name we use for private body parts - boys/penie, girls/cookie. I remember my mom using the same titles, so that's where our come from.

TOO FUNNY! I've got a good one for you. When Kylie was about 18 months old she was in the bathroom with me and Daddy was in the shower. We have a see through shower curtain and Kylie asked Daddy "Wass-at?" I said "that's Daddy's pe@is". It's a technical term and didn't think it was wrong to use and I never thought she'd start giggling and then said PEEEEENIS! hehehe Another one was when Kylie already established the fact that she called her girlie part her "hoo-hoo" I picked that one up from a friend who called it that and that's what her daughter was taught to call it. And when I give Kylie a bath I tell her to stand up so I can wash her hiney and her hoo hoo. Well one day Kylie was standing behind our dog (boy dog, lab/chow named Roscoe) and Kylie points to the dogs butt and says, "Foffo's hoo hoo!" Kids are good for the blood pressure aren't they? All the laughing keeps it down!
Tia,
Thank you so much for sharing this story about your family during the holidays. It reminds me of my family when we was growing up. lol
It makes me sad that my family is not near and I will be spending Thanksgiving home alone with the little ones since hubby has to work Thanksgiving day, day after and all weekend. Will be a great paycheck but man oh man a very lonely one for me. Especially since this is my 3 Thanksgiving without my Mom.
My son, his wife and baby are over now so we can spend some time together. He leaves Sunday. I will be very sad to see my precious grandbaby go. I have been loving on him non stop since Thursday afternoon. The other maternal grandma begged me to leave her some sugar! lol
My two older girls are in their own little world so I have no idea if they are going to spend Thanksgiving over here.
I was brought up believing that Thanksgiving is everyday you wake up. So I will thank God for allowing me to have another day another year.
Sorry I made this long.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family. Enjoy your week off. Maybe we can chat or talk over the phone for little bit while you are off.
Thanks for the childhood memories!
hugs,
Cira
That was a real cute story! I hope you and your family enjoy the Holiday!
