It's been a hectic 24 hours and I want to thank everyone for their well wishes/prayers for my Mom's surgery. She's a trooper. Other than feeling like I was rode hard and put away wet, I'm doing A-OK. Eating, protein and supplements are good. I was a little on the low side for fluids yesterday (only got in 76oz versus the 100+ oz that I usually get). I didn't get to work out yesterday. I'm hoping maybe today, but with my Mom coming home (hopefully), I may not make it there tonight. We'll see. So what's up in your world? How goes the eating, protein, fluids, supplements and exercise? I'm not sure I'll be on the boards later today, I came into the office to get done what I need to get done here and then I'm leaving to go to the hospital. Have a wonderful day everybody! Take Care, Terry

Good morning Terry Thinking of you and your Mom! We had a 'busy' 2 days with the trip to CT. We got to CT on Sunday afternoon with enough time for me to spend about an hour and a half with my parents for a quick visit. I was glad we were able to make the trip for my brother in law and his family. Mr B had been a part of Mr Mo's life since he was a child and I've known him 30 years so while not a direct relative there will be a hole in our lives where he used to be. I've got to get to work this morning and start dealing with the aftermath of the election, now that that is settled. I talked to a friend yesterday who said that things were pretty 'glum' in the office. I am hoping we get through this without too much trauma. Well, time for me to get moving here. Talk to you soon. Hugs, Mo

Hey Mo - Glad you got to CT and back safely. Sorry for the reason that you had to go, though. I was wondering if you were going to have time to visit your parents, glad you could squeeze that in. How'd Lefty do on his own? I'm sure he's missing his buddy, too. Yep, the aftermath of the election has the potential to get ugly. Everyone here's just in a "wait and see" mode, waiting for the shoe to drop. Have a good day! Tia

Hi Tia I still need to schedule some time to get to CT to just spend time with my Mom and Dad, but the weekends get away from me. We have re-scheduled the move to the new server for the weekend of Dec 1-3, so that wipes out that weekend and the BIG upgrade is to be MLK weekend in January. It's hard to make any plans for anything until we finally get the work stuff behind us. Lefty was whining when we got home last night. He can't let me out of his sight (that is not really a new behavior for him .. but it seems almost more so now). He seems to be looking for Poncho. Sunday morning before we left, Mr Mo was in the kitchen fixing his food and Lefty was standing at the bottom of the steps staring up as if waiting for Poncho to come down . I have to stop by the vet's office after work and pick up his pills, I used the last one this morning and we didn't get back in time last night to get them. I'll be glad when the sun comes out ... things are not the brightest and a bit stressful but the dismal weather is not helping either. Hugs, Mo

I'm glad your mom is doing well. This just may be a time you need to be gentle to yourself. Get the rest you need so that you can start anew on your routine tomorrow. Your focus has been on your mom where it should have been. Aime

Hey girl - Glad everything's going smoothly. I've been thinking about McMom. Hope she gets to come home this evening - I know all of you will feel better once she's home. Please give her my best and make sure you take care of yourself while you're taking care of her. I'll be in the office until 3 today, then I have to take B for his allergy shot. First, though, I have to run to Target so I can get him a pack of Pokemon cards for being brave!! The joys of being a Tia! He's so scared, my poor baby! 1 shot down, 22 more to go!!!! I thought about what you said about trying to cut out carbs completely for a week (bad carbs), and I thought, "Yeah, me too." So yesterday was my first day - I did really well, I think. I had a Pure Protein bar for breakfast (my new fave), homemade Chinese chicken salad for lunch, a handful of almonds for a snack, and some scrambled eggs w/Mediterranean crumbles for dinner. I will admit to having two s/f gingersnaps with about a tsp. of s/f pumpkin dip that I made for work. Did all my supps, and drank about 140 oz. of water, so I'm proud of Tia. The carbs were really knocking on my door and I need to stop answering!!!!! It also reinforced that as long as I drink between meals and eat protein dense foods, I'm really not hungry, it's just my head talking. So I'm going to try to stay really focused on how I "feel" before I reach for something to eat. I did ask Mom to pack the Christmas cookies away in a room I don't go in so I don't see them. Other than that, nothing new for me - oh, yeah, big surprise, I'm off Friday and all of next week!!!! YAY!!!! Tia

Hi Terry! I hope your Mom has a speedy recovery! Hope you are doing well. I'm pretty good other than just tired. Food has been good. Today I am trying a new crockpot recipe. It's called Chicken Delicious. Boneless chicken breasts w/ cream of mushroom and cream of celery soups (98%FF of course!) and sherry along with some spices (some lemon juice, paprika, celery seed, salt and pepper) with parmesan cheese on top - done in the crockpot. I'll probably either have mashed potatoes or rice with it and garlic green beans. I'll let you all know how it was! The only thing is I have a feeling I put the crockpot on HIGH instead of LOW and that might be a problem. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I guess the worst that could happen is the chicken will FALL apart which for my band would be a GOOD thing when it comes to chicken! hehehe
