Has anyone self paid ?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone self paid here in Maryland and if so, what surgeon and how much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? This is such a hard decision when you have to pay yourself. Thanks so much.

Are you not insured? I wouldn't choose a surgeon based on cost. I know that is hard as I am a shopper for the best deal person also. Take a look at the posts regarding surgeons to help you make your decision. Aime

My husband is self-employed and because of that insurance companies base everything on your health. With me failing the height/weight ratio and having high blood pressure, our rates are very high and don't cover a lot of things, including wls. We have BC/BS Self-employed insurance. I considered getting a job, just for insurance, but it is hard to stand, that long. I have been out of the work force for a long time and I don't really think I could go back full time at this weight. Now to find funding. Once again, hubby is self-employed and banks don't like to give you loans when you are. Thanks for responding, Wanda

I went self pay was 3 years ago & $17,000. Dont know what Doc roe charges anymore but I love & respect that man and would choose him again in a heartbeat.
