One month post

I am now one month post op. I am still amazed at how I have changed in the last month. I never expected that I would ever be at the weight I am now ever again. I had a pleasant moment this week at work. As I needed to get past another co-worker, I didn't have to ask her to move. I could fit in the space between her chair and the other table behind her. I had done this a few times before it doawned on me that I could fit right by her. That made me smile. I see my surgeon next week for my one month follow up. I hope he can tell me what to do about my energy level. I just get so tired. I also hope he will allow me to start drinking a small amount of real coffee. I miss it so much.

Hello and congratulations. I am 51 and will be having my surgery on Nov. 21st. I'm Excited and scared. I guess you can relate to this. How much would you like to lose? You have had a good start. That is very encouraging for me. I will be in the hospital for Thanksgiving. I have alot to be Thankful for but my surgery is just one more thing to be thankful for. Also I won't have to say lose weight for my New Years Resolution for the first time in 30 years. Hopefully I'll already be on my way.Good Luck to you!!

Pat, Best wishes on your journey! I was 54 when I had my WLS and it's the best thing I could have ever done for myself. The last 2 1/2 years have been an incredible ride. Hugs, Mo

I had my 50th birthday 2 days before surgery. What a birthday present, huh? I want to lose at least 100 pounds. I started at 252. I should probably get down to around 130 or so. Good luck on your day!. Aime

Yay! That is very cool. I love it when stuff like this happens to us. Congrats! I hope all goes well with your post-op visit. Follow your doc's advice and I bet the fatigue will vanish eventually. The only thing I know to do is drink, take your vitamins and exercise as you can. Good luck, girl. Julie

Hi Aime Are you getting your protein and vitamins? I personally never have had a problem with my energy but I know that many people do. I think we all heal and get back to normal at different rates. I hope you get back up to speed soon! Best wishes as the journey continues. Hugs, Mo

I think all I do is drink protein shakes. I take my vitamins daily. I don't miss. I am also exercising 3 days a week at least. I would like to be able to finsih work and not need to come home and be "done" for the day. I lived like that for so many years. I do hope the DVR will be able to make some suggestions about my energy levels. Aime

Hi Aime, Congrats on the progress, you're doing great! Little victories are huge after WLS aren't they? Try not to stress about the energy, it'll come back. I remember being tired until I was about 2 months post op and then it got better. Just try to get all your protein, supplements and fluids in. Take Care, Terry
