HELP!!!!
Sheila fortunately it will stop at some point. Keep pushing the protein. Do you use the liquid protien called Protonex as a supplement? I get the bottle of the stuff from my doctor's office. The cost is about $25. It sure did and still does help -- that is when I drink it. LOL!!! The new rule for protein - although controversial - but becoming more widely accepted is that a post -op should get in one gram of protein for for every 2.2 poounds of body weight . Keep taking your supplements -- be failthful. The hair loss will subside.

Hi Sheila,
I started losing my hair immediately upon getting home from the hospital, but it got really bad at 3 months. When I went for my six month checkup, the Nurse Coordinator noticed the hairloss right away and said that it was usually at its worst between 3-6 months. Just keep getting all your fluids, protein and supplements in.
I'm happy to report that at 15-16 months out now my hair is exactly where it was prior to surgery so it all came back.
Take Care,
Terry
Hi Sheila -
First of all, try not to stress TOO much! I know, easier said than done, but I've heard stress makes it worse!! You won't go bald!!! Just remember, your body just went through a big stressor, and as long as you're being compliant, there's not a whole lot you can do.
I lost hair between months 3-6, also, and I had thin hair to begin with. I'm happy to say that it's rebounded nicely, to my great relief.
It gets better and easier, so hang in there!
Tia
Hi Sheila,
First, there are several bright sides...
1. You won't go BALD.
2. While your hair is falling away so is most of you....
I got in my protein and did what I was supposed to do...I LOST gobbs of hair...my hair USED TO BE very thick and coarse. I am now 2.5 years out and my hair is just starting to recover.
I did get my hair cut short(er) to help it grow back in...my favorite time was when the hair started regrowing and I had little tufts of hair sticking up all over my head....my that is ok because my ass was getting smaller every day!! LOL
Your hair will recover!! But it will get bad for a while...for a few weeks, I used a lint roller on my pillow every morning because the hair was so thick on the pillow and in my bed...I left DNA all over town....in my car, at my desk...you get the idea...
It is distressing while it is happening, but it too shall pass...along with your butt, thighs, stomach....you get the idea...
I don't mean to make light of your distress, but this is VERY natural...your body is going through amazing changes.
May the hair fairy visit you....
