help

I live in maryland and have tried to get insurance but cannot due to my weight. and I have tried many insurance companies. Does anyone know if maryland has a health help program or does fed goverment. the state insurance will not pay for by-pass surgery or any weight lose cost. any info would be helpful and I be very thankful.

Welcome to the MD I hope youv'e gotten the help you needed. I have a friend who is on Disability via Social Security. She was able to have the surgery through medicare, if I not mistaken. Nadine O.

I have applied for SSD and waiting for the next step, its not a step I wanted to take but I am showing the signs of my weght. Medicare will pay for the surgery but you have to be on SSD for 2 yrs to get it. i cannot or will not give up till I get this weight off of me. I was allright till about 3 yrs ago then seam like my weight just took off. I cant afford to keep going on this way, cause I have a 3 yr old daughter and I like to see her grow up and because of my weight its hard to get a job.
