Hi all, I'm still progressing. It is a good thing that I have so many appointments to keep busy. It's takes of lot of work to get ready for RNY. I am glad in a way because it helps me pass the time while the insurance makes me wait for approval! Pray for me please, all this waiting is driving me crazy. I of course would like to get approved the first go round if possible. I am hoping they will approve me be or christmas, its the only thing I have asked Santa for! I am hoping to schedule the surgery in January or February. Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi Debbie, Best wishes to you on your WLS journey. I started my "ball rolling" in mid April of 2005. Got an appt for the psych consult and nutritionist for mid-May. Met with my surgeon at the end of May. Had a physical with the PCP in mid-May. Had two sleep studies and I was able to have my surgery by the end of July 2005. My insurance carrier approved me verbally over the phone the same day my surgeon's office submitted the paperwork. I guess having a BMI over 50 with many co-morbidities helped make it a slam dunk for them to approve. I'm not sure where you're at in the process (if you've done everything required by your surgeon) but I would suggest being proactive. Read any paperwork they've given you to make sure that you've satisfied the surgeon's requirements. Follow up with his/her office to see if they've got everything and to see when they're submitting to your insurance. Keep us posted Take Care, Terry

Hi Debbie- I know what you are going threw and so do so many on here. The wait is the worst part but once ou get that yes it will all be rolling after that. Write a journal of everything you are feeling so you can look back on it. Take care, Best wishes and let us know when you have a date. Kelly
