I'm new to the Maryland Board, I didn't know about you, and I am glad to be here. Having my surgery next Thursday, Nov 9 at Hopkins, Bayview. I am looking forwad to reading your post about diet, exercise, etc. i

Linda, welcome to the board! Dr. Schweitzer did my lap-band surgery and he is the best. You won't actually see too much of him the day of surgery, but the other doctors and nurses at Bayview were absolutely wonderful and kept me comfortable and at ease the entire time. Good luck to you! Welcome Linda. This is a great board. I am here nearly everyday. I love chatting with everyone on here. I think we are a pretty active board compared to some others. Hi Linda, I had my surgery at St Agnes on July 28, 2005. Dr. Averbach did my RNY surgery via laproscope. I have not had any problems/complications whatsoever. The only thing is my hair did get really thin but it started filling in before 9 months had passed. I'm very pleased with my outcome (so far). I've lost 129lbs and hope to lose the remaining 35-40lbs prior to having plastic surgery. I do not have the PS scheduled as of yet. Hope This Helps Take Care, Terry
