Hello everyone tomorrow I go to my first post-op appt. and my surgeon is supossed to put me on full liquids. Now I need to know what is good! I have to say only having clear liquids for 10 days was rough, especially when you live in a house where everyone else has to eat lol. Today I dipped a spoon into the pork and beans then banged it on the pan then i licked it and it was toooooo sweet for my new taste. Needless to say that spoon went right into the sink. I guess I have been pretty lucky so far, I haven't had any nausea or anything like it. I just feel hungry, so to get some cream soup tomorrow should feel pretty good I hope. Any way if anyone has any good ideas for the fuul liquid diet please let me know.

Hi Lisa, My program was slightly different (I came home on pureed foods for 3 weeks then went to soft foods, with raw veggies after 6 weeks). I'm not sure what you mean by "full liquid diet". I assume that means pureed foods. I lived on the following when I came home from the hospital: cottage cheese ricotta cheese with some spaghetti sauce (without chunks of meat..or puree the sauce if it has meat) ricotta cheese sweetened with splenda with cocoa sliced cheese (american, swiss, provolone) refried beans with cheese pureed split pea soup (made with milk to up the protein) pureed bean with bacon soup (made with milk to up the protein) I also put ground beef and gravy in the blender to make a puree. It tasted yummy after bland stuff. I figured if I could put food in the blender and puree it with some kind of liquid (within reason, I didn't eat sugar or high fat foods) it was a "go". I was on clear liquids for just the first day after surgery and then full liquids for a week and then on to mushies. But for full liquids I did a lot of protein shakes (or Carn. Instant Breakfast), soups (Campbell's soup at hand), cottage cheese, and yogurt (SF/FF). I gradually added mushy stuff but mainly started with refried beans w/ cheese and mashed potatoes. Terry has a lot of good ideas listed for you.

Thank you for your ideas. The refried beans/cheese sound good.

Hi Lisa, I just went on soft foods today after almost three weeks on pureed foods. The refried beans and cheese has been one of my favorites! I also found the healthy choice chicken soup in a blender is pretty good. Welcome to the losing side! It's an awesome place to be!!! ~Heather

I have been eating (drinking) Carnation instant breakfast, cream soups, yogurt, and some clear liquids still. I did try oatmeal, but it was too heavy for me. I had some cream of wheat yesterday and it was ok. It was easier to thin out. I am just starting to feel hunger. Aime

Thank you all for your ideas. So far I've tried cream of wheat, and tom. soup, ricotta and ragu sauce. My pouch tolerated pretty good. Today my mom is having roast and MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY. We'll see how well i tolerate them.
