I am approved...finally!!

I received the best call in the world today--I am finally approved for my surgery! No word yet on a date--probably won't receive that call until next week--but looks like they are booked through January. It took almost 10 months in total since I thought about surgery, but I am finally approved! I would welcome anyone's advice on preparations. Thanks!

Congratulations!!! I know you must be beside yourself!!!!! I am so happy for you. My name is Cira and I am looking to have surgery with Dr. Von Rueden too. If you can share some information I would gladly appreciate it. I am schedule to go to the information session on November 8th. Wishing you the very best and a surgery date that is not too far away! Hi to both of you! Sandra, congrats on getting that approval!! YAY!!! Cira, hang in there, it'll happen. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time right now as I'm getting ready to leave the office, but if either of you want to email me, I'll answer ASAP. Also, if you want to be completely bored (I hope not!), scroll back to August 2, which is my surgiversary date and read my post "First Year Reflections." It pretty much sums up what I've been through. I spoke at an info session last month, and I didn't notice anyone falling asleep, so I may actually have provided some good info!! Tia, Thank you so much for suggestion that I read your post. I must say that I am very glad that I read it. I have a lot of emotions flowing right now and a tear of joy to know that finally that *perhaps* there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me too. You have made my night. Thank you so much for sharing that most special moment of your life. ((((hugs)))) Cira It is also good to read that DVR is a great dr since I have gotten some mixed reviews about his personality.

Congrats Sandra! The only thing I would suggest as far as preparation, is to listen to your surgeon's office to get the ins and outs of his program. Some things are pretty basic and others are specific to each surgeon's practice. Let us know when you have a surgery date! Take Care, Terry

Once I was approved, I had a surgery date quick. It was only a month after approval. Good luck.
