Taking medications
Kelly, I see that you are from Crofton area. I have been trying to find a support group near me in the Prince Frederick and or Solomons area. Actually, I trying to find a support group any closer than Baltimore. Can you tell me how you found your group?? Thanks for the info on medications. I am looking forward to the day I am off them. Wow. How long ago did you have your LapBand? surgery? Take Care Diane
Hi Diane,
I did not have lap band surgery, I had RNY. I was able to take my meds immediately after surgery so I would think you'd be able to take yours. You may have to do them on separate "swallows" rather than all at once, but it shouldn't pose a problem.
Best wishes to you as you approach your surgery. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers that day
Take Care,
Terry
Thanks for your kind thoughts. Can you tell me how you felt the first week after surgery? My husband is very supportive but sad that I was scheduled for surgery right before Thanksgiving. He loves my cooking. I am going to help him learn to cook, so I don't have to. Did you like your doctor??
You take care to!!! Diane
Hi Diane -
My blood pressure dosage was cut in half upon discharge from the hospital. Two weeks later, when I was constantly weak and nauseous for no apparent reason, my surgeon's nurse practitioner saw me at last minute's notice. It was discovered that my blood pressure was dangerously low. I have been off of my blood pressure meds since that day. Every patient is different, so know what your levels should be, and monitor them closely after your surgery. Adjustments will be made by your doctor if need be. As for my cholesterol meds. My primary care physician took me off of those 3 months ago. I just did a follow-up round of labs today just to make sure my levels are where they should be. I'll get the results in a week, but I'm pretty sure everything is good. Good luck with your surgery!
