Non-Scale Victory (NSV) for Me

GM Everybody, I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but I gotta get it all in. Just had to share after whining yesterday (or was it the day before) about the scale not moving. I've been buying plus sized clothes all my adult life (before that it was the chubby department at Sears). I've really enjoyed the "newness" of going into the regular sized ladies/misses dept. I'm in between the regular ladies sizes and the plus sizes, but I have managed to buy a few things in XL (usually a size 16-18). Usually I can get pants in a smaller size (compared to the tops). Prior to WLS I was buying 30/32 tops and fitting into 26/28 stretch jeans (from Wally World, naturally). So a few weeks ago I go into the misses section at Wally World (they're carrying much nicer stuff these days BTW) and I picked up a pair of stretch jeans (made exactly like the ones in the plus size section but they're $2 cheaper). So I bought a pair of XL jeans. I get them home and wash them and put them on. Well guess what, they're too big. So I took the other pair that I bought at the same time but hadn't washed and exchanged them for a size L (12-14). I didn't try them on, but figured they would fit at some point soon. So this morning I grab a pair of jeans and I put them on and they just don't fit right....they're big around the waist and they're bagging around my legs and butt. I felt like I was wearing clown pants. So I take them off and look at the tag and they are the XL pair that I bought and washed. So then I went looking for the L size that I hadn't tried on. I put them on and they fit..perfectly! Me, Terry....wearing a size 12-14 pants!!! Now I realize that these type of pull on stretch jeans are very forgiving and I probably cannot wear a 12-14 in regular jeans (yet)...but this is such a victory for me. I stood there and started crying. Just the thought of being able to walk into any store and buy clothes...me in pants a size 12-14!! Anyway, I just had to share with everybody. My family and friends have been very supportive of me along this WLS journey, but I know that you all know EXACTLY what I've been through and what I'm going through and I know how important it is to share with each other because we're all in this together. Have a Wonderful Day! T
