Real Hunger and Head Hunger
OK Not sure if I should even be feeling this being only 2 weeks out but here is my 'issue'.....either I am not getting in enough food, which I think I am, or my head is playing tricks with my tummy. For the last two days I have been feeling hunger pains. Even before that I never feel full when I eat or drink so I have no idea how much I can really handle. I eat what my doc tells me to, I measure my food and am following everything pretty much to the letter but still feel hungry even when nothing appeals to me. What is going on? Has anyone else felt this? I'm on pureed food for another week which I am fine with but the scale hasn't budged in 4 days either. I had promised myself I wasn't going to be obsessive about the scale so I put it away today after seeing the same number again. Is this normal or something I need to call my doc about?

Honestly, I think "head hunger" is far and away the more difficult one to deal with - it's part of the reason most of us became overweight to begin with.
You'll know if it's real hunger should you overeat at this stage - the pain will be much worse than you're used to.You'll be telling yourself you're hungry, but it will hurt so damned much, you'll wonder how.
Don't fret that the scale doesn't move as fast as you'd think - for almost every one of us post-docs, it stopped, started, plateaued, GAINED (a little) - but after several months to a year, the downward trend continued almost without effort. Plateaus every few weeks are *COMPLETELY NORMAL*. For me, it was about every three weeks, almost like clockwork, and it would last up to a week. I lost a hundred pounds in the first six months, but if you were to read my notes a month out, I was in full panic, thinking it wasn't going to work at all.
