Ugh! Can I erase this week??
Hey all -
I've been MIA because on Sunday a.m., my sweet little Bubba, aka Brian, was admitted to Franklin Square Hospital with a severe asthma attack. He had been with Mom and me on Saturday, and I noticed he was starting to cough a little, so we gave him some Children's Claritin and once we got him home, a breathing treatment. Well, Sunday at 6 a.m., Gary called and said they were taking him to the ER, because his mother had been giving him treatments every 3 hours and they weren't helping. Thank God they took him when they did, because the ER said if we had waited much longer, he would've had to be flown to Hopkins PICU!!!
So scary for my sweet guy, he told me, "Tia, they stuck this thing in my skin," (an IV), and "they're making my skin drink water," (again, the IV). He kept saying, "This isn't fun!" while trying to put his Legos together with his right hand. He's left-handed, and I don't know why they put the IV in his left hand, but they did. We took him some presents, but he was just so brokenhearted at having to be there, and he looked soooo pathetic in that little hospital gown!!
The good news is, he's home tonight, feeling better, and had a bowl of mac & cheese. Although he must not be 100%, because he turned down a brownie!!! So I'm off tomorrow, Mom & I are watching him, and I'll be spending the day trying to get red crayon out of brand-new postal uniforms!!! Apparently, someone, and both KB deny it was them, left a red crayon on the floor, and I must've picked it up in the dirty clothes, because I checked the pockets before they went in the washer!!! So, since they both deny it, I guess Gary & I will have to be more careful where we leave our crayons!!!
Anyway, in the whole scheme of things, red crayon and ruined postal uniforms don't matter - my Bubba's better and he's home, asleep in his bed!!!
Say some prayers that he continues to recover and that he outgrows this asthma!
I'm back to work on Wednesday - see you then!!!
Tia
Hi Tia-- So sorry to hear about that but glad he is home and doing better. MMM mac and cheese makes everything better. Turn down a brownie If I could only look at one. LOL. Well best wishes and hope he gets over this asthma. It's scary to see kids get sick and in the hospital. Have a good day with him tommorow.
Hi Tia,
I am glad your little guy is doing better. Asthma attacks are very scary. My brother had those quite often as a kid. Sorry about the crayon. I hope you can get it all out of the uniforms. I usually attribute that kind of thing to grimlins since no one is our house EVER does stuff like leaving crayons on the floor.
I'll be praying for full recovery.
Hugs, Robin
