Good afternoon everyone!! It's been a week or so since I posted last and have missed you guys!! I've been so busy trying to get everything in order for work....they are so paniced that I'm going to be out for any length of time. On the one hand it's nice to know that I'll be missed, but on the other hand, deal with it!! I agree about traditions and family helping each other. I grew up that way, but my husband did not, but he's into making new traditions with our kids. Some of them are what I did growing up and some are variations of them, but at least the kids will remember them and actually already talk about them. It's really nice to know that you'll be passing down something of yourself besides your genes to your children. I had my pre-op with my surgeon last week and everything went just fine. I started my liquid diet last week and have lost 7 pounds so far. I did cheat last night and had homemade biscuits and gravy for dinner at my Mom's. It is my most favorite meal of all time, so just had to have one last time!! I have my pre-op with my primary care this morning and am now offiically medically cleared to have the surgery next week. My EKG was very good and the dr. said that I couldn't have had a better heart. Well, stay dry and have a great weekend. I'll try to post better next wee****il Thursday....(surgery is 10/12). Yvette

Hi Yvette - Good to see you again! I know you must be sooooo excited about your upcoming surgery!! Just rest assured, any feelings you have - fear, excitement, etc., are all perfectly normal. I was sooooo happy not to have to work for 8 weeks, I enjoyed every day that I was off and hated to go back. My Mom and I got to spend a lot of time together, and she was sorry, too, when it was over. That's great that you're creating and blending traditions, your kids will thank you for it one day! Biscuits and gravy, hmmm? Well, gravy IS a liquid, so I'd say you did okay!!!! Don't worry, much further down the road, you'll be able to have a small portion. If you're like me, your tastes and sense of smell may change, and you may find you don't even want them. I can't really do bread - too doughy, and it sits in my pouch like lead!!! Glad everything is going according to plan - we're saving a seat for you on the loser's bench! Have a great weekend! Tia
