Guess I'm not the only one with worries!
Last night while my hubby and I were watching tv in our matching reclyners , I said to the cat on my lap, "We sure do love daddy". He smiled at me and said to the cat on his lap "Lets just hope mom doesn't get skinny and leave us". HELLO!!!!! As nice as the statement was in some sort of way. I had no idea he had these worries. Guess I should get some things out in the open more. Funny thing is he married me at 350 lbs. and my fear is that he won't want me thin. The human mind, it's a funny thing.
Good afternoon Margie- I think all husbands and wives too go threw this. Thinking the other will get skinny and leave. I think my husband thought it but never said it to me. Others said it to me but my vows said till deathe do us part and i took that to heart. Some have to be reassured and just let him know that aint going to happen. I remember you saying at the meeting that he doesnt think you will need him anymore. I still need my husband and always will. Just let him know everyday that you will always need him and it will get better. Your day is coming soon. Are you getting excited?
Hey Margie,
Keeping the lines of communication is key I think...and from what I can see you are doing just that. Keep up the good work. He loves you. Even after the surgery and the weight is coming off just let him do some of the 'little things' still. I think there are always ways to make them feel needed when their insecurities show. If all else fails just send him my way up the road for a good kick in the pants! LOL Just kidding! My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am so glad to have a new friend 'right around the corner' going through this.
