Happy Hump Day Everybody!
Happy Hump Day Everybody!
How is everyone today? I'm doing pretty darn great myself! Water/Supplements/Eating/Protein and Exercise are all on track. I'm trying really hard not to obsess about the scale..haven't weighed myself since last Friday.
Last night my Mom and I joined Tia and her Mom for a great dinner at this great restaurant "By The Docks" in Middle River. We got crabcakes and cream of crab soup...yummy!!! I'll be eating my leftover crabcake for lunch today. I'm thinking with all Tia had left, she's gonna be working on hers for a few days!
Well I'm off to a busy morning here and then I'm leaving at 10am to work from home the rest of the day (while the contractors are there working on the porch). I have an appt. with my personal trainer at 4:00pm. I'm not sure what I'm eating for dinner, but like I said I know what's coming for lunch
Have a Great Day!
Terry
Morning Terry
Happy hump day right back at ya!!! Is it my imagination or do the weeks fly by???
I'm having more than my usual problem with my hip the last couple of days. I think it's my sciatic nerve acting up. I fell last year when we were on vacation. I slipped in some water on the floor at Concord Mills and went down VERY hard. The pain worked itself out within a few days. I did make a report to the mall management and the paramedics did come out when it happened, but I declined to be transported. The paramedic said it sounded like I had 'bruised' my sciatic nerve or fallen on it .. something like that. I really haven't given it any thought since it got better, but now it's the same sort of pain/discomfort in my hip/leg that I had when I fell. It's just hard to get comfortable sitting or standing or walking or ANYTHING. If this is still going on tonight I think I'll dig into my stash of lortabs and take one, maybe that will knock me out/relax me enough to get some rest. I'm also thinking that because my left hip joint has been bothering me maybe I've aggravated the right side by favoring the left. All I know is I am NOT amused!!!
I'm in trouble with Poncho & Lefty ... I opened the LAST can of cat food this a.m. Last night when I went to Petsmart they didn't have ANY of the one kind of food they will eat, so I came home with no cat food. I did have a successful trip to Sam's club though with the exception of my Discover card being declined (good thing I had enough in my checking account to use the debit card ... arghhh). Came home and called Discover to find out what was up with that. They had put a 'security' hold on my account after my large purchases at your Sam's Club in Port Covington on Sunday. They had been trying to reach me to verify they were not fraudulent purchases. (I guess because I generally buy gas and groceries, not computers. ) But it was still embarrassing to be told my card was declined.
Meeting at 10 a.m. with our buyer on the proposals. I am hoping this is the end of it. We can't just make our recommedation, the buyer has to meet with us and review what we did. (I feel like I'm in grade school)
Well, I had better make coffee and get with it here. Have a fun day! (I hope you are taking pictures of the porch project that you will share )
Hugs, Mo
Gm Everyone -
A slow, but uneventful drive to work. We're breaking in a new Cadet - they try to rotate them once a year so they don't get too comfortable up here. This one, Chad, is sooooo young, he'll be 19 in December!! Yikes - I remember when I was the baby everywhere I worked! No more!! But he's actually cute - for a baby, and seems very together - or as together as you can be at 18!!!!
Dinner last night was so yummy and so much fun, although I'm now convinced that if any men had approached us, it would've been to pick up Terry's Mom. Mrs. Mac was such a riot - the things that came out of that sweet little mouth were hilarious!!!!! It was nice to get my Mom out of the house, too. I feel so bad that for most of the week, she sits home. The hazards of not driving, I guess, but I still feel bad. Yup, crab cakes for lunch, maybe dinner, too.
"I have an appointment with my personal trainer...." la dee dah!!! Good for you!!! I have a support group meeting, so I can't exercise tonight - yeah, that's it!!
Moie, sorry about your owies - you're right, when one side hurts and you favor it, the other side seems to join in sympathy. Lortab sounds like a safe bet, so maybe you'll be able to get some rest. And no, the weeks DON'T fly by, at least not for me!!! Hope you feel better soon!
Alright, that's it for me, but you know me, I'm sure I'll have more to share later.
Tia
The weeks are kinda flying by for me...it seems like the days drag on forever, but before you know it, it is a month later...so I can relate. It def does not seem that I am almost 8 weeks post-op, I can tell you that!
Not much going on today...I think I broke my toes last night. You know how you get undressed and as you are pulling of your pants you kick your leg a little to "shake" the pants off? Yeah, I did that a little too hard and wailed my foot into the door jamb. Now 2 of my toes on my right foot are bruised and a little swollen. I couldn't even get my shoes on this morning...so I came to work in my fuzzy slippers! Not much they can do for broken toes anyways, so I figured to just suck it up.
With every power in me I will be going to the support meeting tonight...fuzzy slippers and all!

So I was in the middle of reading everyones posts when we had a firedrill here at work. I am posting really quickly and will have to catch up later.
I would like to add that I to the stairs back to our 9th floor office so I have done my exercise for the day! Actually it only took me about 8-10 min so I really need another 30 min. somewhere but still, I didn't think I could do it. I had to stop on the 7th floor to take a breather for about a minute but then I finished! WOOHOO!
Got my Maryland driver's license today. It was the last thing to do after moving here to truly be "moved in" to Maryland. Not a bad picture either.
Well, I should get to work. I'll catch up more later one and respond to some posts.
Hugs, Robin
C'mon, Robin, fess up! It was you who pulled the fire alarm, wasn't it????
Wow - 9 flights of steps - you're my hero! I remember walking ONE flight of steps thinking I needed to call 911, so it's a relief not to have to do that any more. When I'm feeling less than lazy, I do try to take the steps here to my 3rd floor office, but 9 floors!!! YOWZA!!!!
A good pic on a driver's license? Wow, that rarely happens - or about as often as I take the steps!!!!
Have a good rest of the day!
Tia
Terry,
That is the place I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. The owners are the same that own Timbuktu so the crab cakes are the same. Wasn't the food GREAT!!! We just love it, but it's best to get a reservation or you have to wait forever The crab cakes are SO big that I order the sandwich sans the bun of course because even prior to surgery I could only handle one!
I'm doing good. My 2 week post op appt is tomorrow. I've been trying more solid foods and have been fine as long as I chew them well
Heather
Hey Heather -
Yup, reservations are a must at By the Docks - in fact, our server last night told us that weekend reservations are running about 3 weeks in advance right now. It's always mobbed! Terry and I shared the double crab cake platters with our Moms, and STILL had food for lunch today!
Glad you're doing well! Chew! Chew! Chew!!!
Tia
Hey Tia! My Mom loves it at By The Docks so we always make reservations 2 weeks prior. It gives us something to look forward to! We're due to go soon actually. We all got together for dinner last weekend and she wanted a crab cake so it was too short notice for BTD so instead we had her try Jad's Caddyshack and she liked it there too. It was of course not BTD, but the food at Jad's is delish too!!!
