Bobbi,
I am aware of several patients where Dr. Barry Greene, in Rockville, has done certain types of revision surgeries due to varying complications encountered by patients (whose original WLS was with other surgeons). It sounds as if your friend developed a bowel obstruction, which I appreciate, can be an extremely serious complication following WLS.
I certainly hope that she is successful. She certainly has a very good friend in you.

First of all, I'm so sorry thst your friend had this complication. My doctor Dr. Mark Kligman at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland was a trauma surgeon prior to transitioning into bariatrics (in Ohio). When I asked him why he got into WLS he said "he was tired of having to surgically repair people who had WLS and thought that they deserved a good surgeon from the start". He has done many repairs and fixed problems for people who had complications. I'm not sure he would be able to address your friend's needs but it's a worth a phone call.
