The same question but with the Duodenal Switch this time. I had decided on the RNY and ruled out the lapband without even considering the Duodenal Switch. I was content knowing that I made the right decision for myself. Now, with three weeks prior to surgery, I have met two individuals that had the D/S. Of course, they are delighted with their D/S choices and couldn't stop raving about how they can eat anything in moderation with No dumping or nausea. They also mentioned the parts of my stomach remaining inside my body without a way of checking for cancer, etc. They are so very pleased with their respective decisions and are encouraging me to check out the third alternative to RNY and Lapband. I would love to hear from others and why they did or did not have the Duodenal Switch. Thanking you in advance, A Hope

A Hope, I had a DS just over 2 weeks ago, and I'm thrilled. Most of the information I got about it came from duodenalswitch.com. Check out that website. It will give you all the information you need about the switch and more. As soon as I found out about it, I knew it was the right surgery for me. Learn about it, and make the right decision for you. Good luck with whatever you decide. I also had Dr. Schweitzer. He's fabulous. You will be very pleased.
