Im 40 yall & 6 months Post-op
Hey Hons !!!
I was born 9/21/66 . Am I officially an "Old Head" now? I'm so happy today ! I feel better emotionally and physically than I have in years. It's a little bitter sweet because I miss my Dear Mother. She would have fixed me a big breakfast and we would have been laughing over a cup of coffee. As of 9/6/06, my 6 mos post-op date, I have lost 70 lbs . According to the weight loss estimator, I'm right where I should be . I have 55 more lbs to go to get to the goal my Dr set for me. So far, all praises due to God, I have had no major complications. I'm 5'9" and I was wearing a 26/28 now I can get into a 14/16. I need to update my picture because I look a lot different now. I'm making more healthy food choices and following my Dr's instructions. I had waivered back and forth over the past 2 years about having WLS. I finally decided that my health was worth it. So, I decided to do it before I needed knee surgery and before I developed diabetes and high blood pressure. I have stuck to only weighing myself once a month. Robin O. was the first profile I read and she had the same surgeon I decided to go with. I want to thank all those who come to this forum and share their weight loss experiences. I have learned a lot. I do have one question on today for the veterans. Why do I still wear a size 13 shoe ?
Peace and Blessings
Nadine O.
Hey Nadine -
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I will join you at that illustrious milestone in about 6 months!!!! They say 40 is the new 20, and I don't know about you, but I feel better now than I did at 20. My only regret is that I didn't have wls then!!!
You're right, God is good, but you had to work the tool! You've done an awesome job! Keep up the good work, your progress is amazing.
As far as the shoe size, has your width decreased? I actually have gone from a size 11W to a 10W, and I can feel those getting a little loose. Are you tall? I'm sure you don't have clown feet, so if you're tall, maybe your feet are in proportion. Sorry I don't have any real answers!
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY & CELEBRATE!!!
Teresa
Happy birthday Nadine.
Congatulations on your weightloss. That is wonderful. I am glad you are celebrating your 40th. I didn't feel much like celebrating 30, didn't want to let go of "29" but I think I'll enjoy turning 40. I am happy for you that you feel so much better. Losing 70 lbs will do that for ya!
Hugs, Robin
Happy Birthday Nadine!!! I turned 40 in May and it was a milestone for me. My daughter just turned 20 and is ready to get out on her own leaving me with no one to really care for other than myself. I look at it this way.... For 25+ years I have always cared for others, now it is time for me!!!! I will be having my surgery next week and have been telling everyone that I'm gonna be one hot 42 year old!! Figured I give them 2 years advance notice on that..haha. I will probably have a tummy tuck at 41 and a breast lift at 42, then watch out!!! Luckily I was blessed with "young genes" because no one believes that I'm 40, like that is old or something. I tell everyone that I'm just beginning to live. My daughter is even getting a little nervous that I'm gonna be thinner than her. Enough about me!!
Have a wonderful birthday!!!!!!!!!!
