Clothing Swap or Exchange??

I pretty much do 99% of my clothes shopping at the Goodwill stores and Gabriel Brothers now. I've given about 4 rounds of clothes away to the Goodwill or family since I had the surgery. I have some size 20's that are next on my "to go" list but they have been worn only a few times and I paid full price at the Dress Barn for the stuff. I also have 4 pair of capri jeans I absolutely adore- but they are size 22. They are lovingly called my "yo-boy" pants...I got them at Gabs for a bargain price. I hope they never fit me well again but I absolutely love them and have not yet parted with them. At this point I am averaging a size medium top and 12-14 pants. Anyone aware of a Maryland clothing swap or exchange for us post-ops where no money is exchanged? Karen

Karen: Keep up the good work. I was supposed to get my lap RNY this morning but my surgeon had to delay due to family emergency. I was wondering if any of the clothes were business like attire. We have business casual at my office but I am already not able to wear my work pants and although I'm not in a 22 yet I should be there shortly. By the sounds of it you aren't selling them so to speak but I would surely appreciate them and would "recycle" them back to someone else when they are too big for me. Please let me know. Hey Karen! I'm now into a size 20, give or take depending upon the style, fabric, etc., so I'd be happy to take anything!!! I know what you mean about it being so hard to give stuff away - even though I'm happy to not be in that size, it's hard to think about the $$$ I've paid. I think in the first 6 months, I gave away about 10 30 gallon trash bags of clothes to a friend who's going to have surgery with DVR. She's going to recycle them, too, so at least someone will get some use out of them. Again, thanks for the offer, feel free to email me. I did mention to DVR that we should have a clothing exchange at the support group meetings, and he said they're working on revamping their format. Take care, Teresa

Do you attend support group meetings? My support group holds clothing swaps twice a year, once in the summer and again at Christmas.
